My Date with a Mannequin 8

LOL… Actually, this was my Victim-of-the-Day for my Project 365 (technically 366) – a photo a day for a year.  My project is now up to date, so please check out the new photos added.  Captured a brilliant photo of the Sandia Mountains yesterday.

The story on this one… I met my friend Lyn, a professional dog groomer, at the store she is going to move her business into.  The current business, which is some sort of sewing shop, obviously has not yet moved out all their equipment and supplies.  I glance to the right, see a very large full-body mirror and a half-body dress form mannequin.  I could not resist the urge to have some fun.  This photo is more PG-13… I have some others that would border more on an R rating…   Shop Name:  Completely Gone to the Dogs;  Location:  Tramway and San Rafael, Albuquerque NM.

The Colbert Report in 60 Seconds 10

Throughout time kings and queens held court and their jesters served humor on the people. I’m sure throughout history there were times when these masters of satire were faced with the possibility of losing their heads as they opened their mouths. Thankfully today our jesters show themselves in the form of Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart. I have more respect for them than I do many journalists today. They are brilliant.

FDR’s Second Bill of Rights 11

Saw this image come across Facebook a while back and saved it.  So, just thought I would post a reminder to all what an incredible president FDR was.  I wish our politicians were more like him.  I am fortunate to have all these items (some to a certain degree, as in medical), but an unacceptable amount of people in our country do not.  In fact, when you read down a bit further, nearly all these items are disappearing.

Ralph Hall (R-TX) Speaks Out on Climate Change 8

The chair of the House of Representatives science committee doesn’t think much of the investigations exonerating the scientists involved in the 2009 Climategate e-mail scandal. He also believes that climate scientists are driven by hopes of financial gain in producing reports that provide evidence for global warming.

Representative Ralph Hall (R-TX) doesn’t do many interviews. So it was a coup when the National Journal’s (NJ) Coral Davenport was able to get the 88-year-old legislator to answer several questions about his views on climate change as part of a 1 December story on how congressional Republicans are reluctant to answer even the most basic questions about where they stand on the issue.     More…

Dog and Cat… Caught in the Act! 9

I came across this photo somewhere on Facebook so I have no idea where it originated.  I basically just had a field day with it. What in incredible photographic capture! And with the glowing eyes, it was a flash in the dark shot. They were busted!

Which is your favorite?  Any other ideas??? More…
