Does this picture below make you uncomfortable? It should, and I hope it does because sometimes, the truth is not pretty. Progressive media outlet The Texas Observer is raising eyebrows all over the internet with its new cover, a graphic for the story “Politics Become Personal: Texas Lawmakers Have Made Themselves Part of Women’s Most Difficult Decisions.”
The story comes on the heels of the major changes Texas lawmakers have passed regarding women’s healthcare, and follows Carolyn Jones’ first person account of getting an abortion after the passage of HB-15, published by the Observer on March 15th.
I recently posted about Wisconsin State Bill 507 which will list single parents as a factor to child abuse and neglect. Then I came across this photo last night on the internet and thought that this would be a very good reminder to those supporting SB 507 – that President Obama and former President Clinton were both raised by single mothers.
On Wednesday, the War Against Women was victorious in Oklahoma, which rather surprised me since Oklahoma is a bit more conservative than most other states. An Oklahoma district judge struck down a state law requiring women to have an ultrasound image placed in front of them and to listen to a detailed description of the fetus before having an abortion. District Judge Bryan Dixon ruled that the 2010 measure is an unconstitutional special law because it only affects patients, physicians, and sonographers who deal with abortions without addressing other medical care.

This is a rarity for me… writing a post entirely about myself. I may throw in bits and pieces from time to time, but other than my “About” page, I’ve never written only about me.
For those who I have become WordPress buddies with, you have been along side of me through the past few months with my up’s and down’s of having recently been diagnosed by a neurologist as having MS. Well, today I FINALLY went to see an MS Specialist and she says I do not have Multiple Sclerosis. There are several reasons why, but primarily, the white spots showing in my brain scan are not in the normal area where the lesions occur. Then adding in the fact that my spinal tap (lumbar puncture) was inconclusive, and my ophthalmologist exam showed no signs of MS in my eyes, I appears that I just do not have MS.
Oh, the wonderful things that come across Facebook. Saw this thumbnail size image of some stuffed toys but could not quite make out what it was, so “click.” Oh… my… Horus! What popped (or should I say pooped) up in front of me were two plush toys known as “Pee & Poo.” So if you’re looking for a kid-friendly (although admittedly weird) way of teaching your kids about #1 and #2, then the best teachers are probably Pee and Poo.
It’s Monday, once again. Ugh, I would much rather be back in bed. Since I can’t, then thought I would start the day out with some funnies. Here are some “I Hate Mondays” funnies, “Having a bad day” funnies, a few other oddballs, and some animated gif’s.
First, though, for your listening pleasure while perusing the funnies, here is the Boomtown Rats featuring Bob Geldof singing, “I Don’t Like Mondays.”
Need…. more…. coffee…………

Here is a letter written by Debbie Lesko which was published in the Daily News-Sun. In this letter she is defending her House Bill 2625 which allows any employer to opt out of birth control coverage based upon their religious beliefs.
A friend shared this image along with the story behind it on Facebook today. Verbatim, here is the story as told by Sgt. Mad Dog Tracy of what the soldiers had to endure on their flight home from their tours of duty in Afghanistan – and all after risking their lives fighting for our country. The sergeant’s closing line pretty much sums up what life is becoming here within the United States.
UPDATE March 25, 2012: Well, folks. I feel like an idgit. I normally check for validity on stories like this, but was lazy last night and didn’t. And what do you know – this happens to be a made-up story. Here is the link to an article which has the information about the research in contacting the Indiana National Guard, who stated that this never occurred. I am still going to leave this up, though, so if anyone is looking for proof and they stumble across this posting, then they’ll know. It’s still a good story, though.
This problem can be solved by pre-school children in 5-10 minutes. By programmers in one hour. By people with a higher education… Well, check it out yourself and post the answer in the comments when you have solved it. Now, those who want to solve it, do not cheat to see if anyone has posted the answer. But then, posting just the answer does not explain the logic here.
This took me just few minutes, so I guess I have a pre-school mentality….
If you haven’t seen the image created several weeks (months?) ago of Senator Rick Santorum which is a composite of gay pornographic photos, you can click here to go to one of my previous posts to view it. This was created due to Santorum’s homophobic and completely ignorant comment that gay sex will eventually lead to beastiality. That statement also brought about the website SpreadingSantorum.com which defines santorum as:
On Wednesday, March 21st, Arizona state Democratic lawmakers organized a news conference to discuss Debbie Lesko’s HB 2625 which allows any employer to opt out of providing contraception to their employees based upon their own religious beliefs. There has been a large outcry over this House Bill not only in Arizona but throughout the entire United States as the War on Women grows more heated every day.
