I am not sure what is up with this guy, but he definitely has a penchant for slightly morbid video commercials. Previously he has released a bunny being shot and a goldfish dying in open air.
The modus operandi of these videos is to use graphic metaphors of death and animals, narrated by a young girl to advance a conservative viewpoint. This one, I feel, goes over the edge of proper decorum by a politician.
Interesting history to this holiday.
In the United States, Mother’s Day is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Mother’s Day recognizes mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general, as well the positive contributions that they make to society.
Although many Mother’s Day celebrations world-wide have quite different origins and traditions, most have now been influenced by the more recent American tradition established by Jarvis. Traditions on this day include churchgoing, the distribution of carnations, and family dinners.

A truly gifted artist’s mind thinks freely and without the boundaries and paths most people’s minds unknowingly follow; creating art out of the most mundane objects as they do not see them as they actually are, but as they would like them to be. (Me)

A fellow Facebook friend posted this earlier today. He runs a wolf and wolf-hybrid rescue out on the east coast. I thought it was so funny that I had to share. In working with dog rescue, there are times I can completely identify.
LMAO…you know it might be time for a shower when you smell wolf and look around for one and realize..its you..!!!! I gotta find some water…lol!!!
Automotive genius and legend Carroll Shelby died yesterday at the age of 89. The cause of his death has not yet been released, but Carroll has recently been hospitalized for pneumonia.
What an utter, absolute genius this man was, and always will be as his automotive designs will continue to live on. Born on January 11, 1923, in Leesburg Texas. Carroll Hall Shelby was born to Warren Hall Shelby, a rural mail carrier and Eloise Lawrence Shelby.
BREAKING NEWS: Mitt Romney cracks. Dons an Edward Scissorhands persona.
It appears as though the pressure is too much for Romney. A shocking story swept through the news revealing how Romney was a bully in high school and chopped off another student’s hair. Phillip Maxwell, who is now an attorney and still considers Romney an old friend, witnessed Romney hold the scissors to cut the hair of a student who was being physically pinned to the ground by several others. Maxwell continued to describe the incident which he witnessed with his own eyes (like he’s going to witness it with someone else’s eyes?), “It was a hack job … clumps of hair taken off.” The victim was a student who displayed effeminate actions and Romney thought the student was gay.
The Prince, who is known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, appeared on the lunchtime news show Reporting Scotland. Dressed in a suit and standing against the backdrop of the weather map, Prince Charles delivered an almost word-perfect reading of the forecast script from his autocue. Although at one point he did question who wrote the script.
Here are several quotes from a variety of political figures in response to President Barack Obama’s announcement today that he now supports gay marriage.
Mitt Romney
“I believe marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman,” Mitt Romney said.
(Well, at least he has not flip-flopped on this view. It just may be the only thing he has stood his ground on.)
Michael Bloomberg
“This is a major turning point in the history of American civil rights,” said New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. “No American president has ever supported a major expansion of civil rights that has not ultimately been adopted by the American people – and I have no doubt that this will be no exception….”
Yesterday, after North Carolina passed Amendment One, which no longer allows civil unions and was created specifically to target same-sex unions, I posted that it was a sad day in America – which it was. To be perfectly honest, I expected that to happen. After all, North Carolina is part of the Bible Belt where people believe the text in the bible overrides our Constitution – even though many Christians, especially in the Bible Belt, pick and choose what they wish to force on others. After all, in the bible, it is permissible to own slaves as well as sell your own daughter. I feel I have made my point here.
Ah, yes. Wednesday has arrived once again. Time for some funnies to help us get through Hump Day and the rest of the week.
Today our country – which was created as a Democracy – just moved one step closer into evolving into a Theocracy. North Carolina’s Amendment One passed. The law decrees that “marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State”- meaning that civil unions and potentially other types of domestic partnerships will no longer be legally recognized.
If you have not seen this video yet, it is very sarcastic and I love it! Going to the extreme to hopefully get the point across as this is how a large number of women are beginning to feel.
The actors Kate Beckinsale, Judy Greer and Andrea Savage have filmed a video for Funny or Die to speak for the millions of women who want Republicans to make decisions about their vaginas for them on issues like the availability of contraception and mandatory ultrasounds for pregnant women seeking abortions. “Way, way deep, up there in my vagina,” Greer says.

Recently, Maurice Sendak was recently featured on the Colbert Report. During the interview, Maurice provided his view on Newt Gingrich:
In a press conference held in Greensboro, North Carolina, Clergy from around the state gathered together to pray for the wisdom of it’s citizens regarding the May 8th vote on Amendment One. In that conference, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber took the time to rebuke the media for asking the wrong questions regarding the amendment.
