Okay, yeah…. it’s a comic. But I couldn’t resist….
Wow. It’s been several months since I’ve posted dog and cat humor. Time sure flies, and my doggie-funnies folder needs to be thinned out a little bit. So here goes…. More…
There are some great ones in here, many – if not most – of which are actual and not Photoshopped. Enjoy! More…
It could not be a more perfect time to post this image, this time with a caption. I had shared this about a year ago as a Parting Shot with the description, “The hunter and the hunted.” These days with the members of the NRA all blowing everything way out of proportion, this photo is a definite “must repost.” More…
Just can’t help myself! More…
Funnies to Start the New Year with
Laughter is always the best medicine, so why not start this new year, 2013, off with some smiles and chuckles. Nothing political – well, one kind-of is but not really. Please enjoy. Don’t forget to comment on which is your favorite on your way out!
I just found out that the person who called Mitt Romney a “poopy-head” was Grover Norquist. I have heard the recording, “Romney is a poopy-head,” many times while listening to Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes and a few others on progressive talk radio, but did not know that was Norquist…. until yesterday. I have hardly been able to stop laughing and/or smiling. I simply can NOT believe that this man, presently one of the most powerful American lobbyists for the Republican Party, actually called Mitt Romney a name that sounds like something a 6-year old would say. What WAS he thinking?
Here is another installment of “Things that make you go, ‘Hmmmm…’” but this time it is a bit more serious. Although using Keanu Reeves image with that spacy “uhhhh” look is meant to be humorous, this image with captions below did make me stop and think. There is a point here. Bradley Manning’s most serious charge is “aiding the enemy”, a capital offense which could land him life in prison if found guilty. Wikipedia has an excellent write-up of the facts behind Manning.
LOL… Just couldn’t resist. Have to admit, Violet has a very good point here. More…
Just having some fun. There is a clean copy of Nurse Romney-Ratched at the bottom if you want to make your own captions. Or share your captions in the comments.
Here is my cool internet find of the day – actually, for me it’s the find of the year!… Doonesbury on Slate website. I love myself some Doonesbury. I am sure many of you already know about it, but I didn’t. Via a friend on Facebook, came to check it out and holy cow! Talk about where to go is you need a Doonesbury fix! Plus the graphical layout and presentation is superb by using what looks to be actual items, such as the Sunday funny page with the bottom ripped; a matchbook that I could almost reach out and pick up; and a bunch of other stuff. If you haven’t been there, check it out.
Here are some rather, ummmmm… unusual people caught by a camera. Now, keep in mind, when people dress in highly “creative” outfits, it is because they want to the attention and/or to have fun. So… give ‘em some attention. Then there are others who are most definitely a one-of-a-kind individual. WTF…..
Mitt Romney recently passed through Iowa to acknowledge this drought, currently affecting 78% of the country. The situation threatens already struggling farmers with outright ruin. To show concern, Romney visited the farm of Lemar Koethe, an Iowa corn farmer, touring crops, surveying the damage, and posing for photo ops.
When an athlete is caught up in the moment, the last thing they think about is the look on their face. Lucky for them, cameras are always on the sidelines ready to take a photo to capture that moment for the athlete.
Here are some of the better moments forever caught and frozen in time.
Anyone who was born in the 50′s, 60′s and 70′s… We are the last generation who played in the street. We are the 1st who played video games, the last to record songs off the radio on a cassette tape. We walked over a mile with no worries of being taken. We learned how to program the VCR before anyone else. We played from Atari to Nintendo. We are the generation of Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons, and Captain Kangaroo. We traveled in cars without seat belts or air bags; lived without cell phones. We did not have flat screen TVs or surround sound – in fact, we had to get up and walk over to the TV to change the station. iPods, the internet, computers, Facebook and Twitter were inconceivable. But nevertheless – WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!
Is your blog a bit boring? No one commenting? Here is a cartoon which will help liven up your comment fields should you follow these very simple instructions. I know I have seen it work on many other sites – especially YouTube.
Woo-hoo!! Friday 5 PM has passed. It is officially the weekend for many of us. Regardless of whether or not you are off for the weekend, or going to work tonight, tomorrow, whenever, we ALL need to smile and laugh on a daily basis. So here is my contribution for today.
Another goodie found on Facebook! I know many of you are anti-Facebook, and I can certainly understand why. I am not on there much for socialization myself, but I do find some GREAT material and info on there – and some very liberal and intelligent pages and links. Here is one I just saw come across my wall from the FB Page, “Whiskey and the morning after blog.” Since I don’t know the name of the owner of the page, I will just call him “Whiskey.” Apparently Whiskey went on a little rant recently and many of his followers loved it so he created this little graphic which includes his rant:
“I propose, in order to ‘protect the sanctity of marriage’ that we institute a 3-year waiting period from the time of your engagement until a marriage license is issued. Once married, you must wait 5-years from the time you separate until you divorce and you are forever barred from getting married again…”
Just kinda surfing around YouTube and came across a few fun videos from the set of The Lord of the Rings. Some bloopers, some funning around, and some interesting shots of partial make-up, partial costumes, how Gollum was created, Gollum eating popcorn, and so on. So thought I would share with the other Ring fans. Also some funnies below the videos.
Okay, I know there are some VERY creative people out there. I must have laughed for a straight ten minutes when I saw this photo – the happy, HAPPY look on the seal’s face. Alas… captioning is NOT my forte. So let’s hear it! Give me one, give me a dozen – don’t be shy. There are no wrong answers. Then I will create and post them all like I did for the “Dog and Cat… Caught in the Act!” image.
Time to let the problems, the job, the kids, whatever may be bringing you stress… it is time to let those things go away for a while. Humor is an excellent medicine for most situations… and for no situation in particular.
Enjoy the Sunday Funnies dated today, July 22nd, 2012.
