Can You Solve This Problem? 99

This problem can be solved by pre-school children in 5-10 minutes. By programmers in one hour. By people with a higher education… Well, check it out yourself and post the answer in the comments when you have solved it. Now, those who want to solve it, do not cheat to see if anyone has posted the answer. But then, posting just the answer does not explain the logic here.

This took me just few minutes, so I guess I have a pre-school mentality….

Happy St Paddy’s Day! Not “Patty’s” 14

Here is some interesting information about the incorrect use of St “Patty’s” Day – it is actually “Paddy’s.” All this information below is pulled directly from the website of someone who is obviously Irish and very passionate about their heritage. This is not the writing of Motley News – but this correction is quite interesting. It would appear that many of us have been spelling the name of this holiday incorrectly for years. From the site, “Paddy Not Patty“:

President Obama’s March Madness NCAA Full Bracket Picks 6

Today, President Obama revealed his picks for this year’s bracket for the NCAA basketball tournament. His Final Four are too “safe” for my taste, although the rest of his picks are not bad. Obama’s bracket is shown further down this posting. For his Final Four, Obama chose:

Madhouse Jeans Washing Label Tells Men that Washing is a Woman’s Job 34

A British clothing company known as Madhouse has put a statement on the washing label, immediately underneath the washing instructions such as “Machine wash warm”, that says, ” – OR – GIVE IT TO YOUR WOMAN. IT’S HER JOB.”

Emma Barnett, Digital Media Editor at The Daily Telegraph, tweeted a photo of the label in addition to her shock. Naturally, she received an enormous amount of replies covering the entire spectrum ranging from “lighten up” and “learn how to take a joke”  to tweeters who informed Emma they would boycott Madhouse jeans – although many of them had never heard of the company.

The Money Face 5

Love the idea on the website, The 99% Behind the Money. This site features photos of a face on a paper bill (i.e. Jackson on the US $20) that morph into your friends real face. It is real simple to do. Basically, you take a paper bill, fold it in half. Than position it between the camera and the subject (person) to be in the photograph until the bill face matches the real face. Then shoot away! When you have just what you want, you may upload and share on this website for shits and giggles.

The Nightman cometh -- snowboarding in the dark in an LED suit 10

Reblogged from Eideard:

Night snowboarding usually equates to grueling pre-dawn slogs up backcountry routes or short, icy turns under stadium-like lights at small resorts. Nowness.com has put a new spin on those traditional forms of night riding. In this stunning piece of film, a unique LED suit is employed to turn the subject into a powder-slashing apparition.

Nowness describes itself as "the digital leader in luxury storytelling," explaining that it attempts to convey inspiring stories of contemporary culture and lifestyle across many genres.

Planned Parenthood Distributes Condoms with QR Codes to Check In on a Website 17

Yes, you read that title correctly. I never saw this one coming (oohhh… so sorry about that). Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest has begun distributing 55,000 condoms to college students with QR codes, allowing students to anonymously “check in” and boast about where they’ve practiced safe sex. A Web site dubbed WhereDidYouWearIt.com chronicles all of the action.

Hilarious Anti-Planned Parenthood Video (Warning: Penis-shaped eclairs) 17

The American Life League released an absurd (and unintentionally hilarious) propaganda video meant to smear Planned Parenthood. In this video, Planned Parenthood is actually called “these perverts”; is accused of selling pornography to children under the name of science; and the gateway drug is masturbation. The speaker, Michael Hitchborn, actually tries to correlate how a drug dealers goal is to make drug addicts, Planned Parenthood’s goal is to make sex addicts.

Siku the Polar Bear Cub | LiveCam and International Polar Bear Day 7

89 days old

When Siku the polar bear cub was introduced to the public late last year, he quickly became an Internet sensation, with his own Web and Facebook pages. But with fame often comes responsibility, and officials at Denmark’s Scandinavian Wildlife Park said Siku would have an important burden to shoulder.

“Siku is going to be an ambassador for polar bears, for global warming,” park director Frank Vigh-Larsen said in December.

Rolling Stones Urinals Not Relieving to Some Critics 15

The men’s restroom in the recently opened Rolling Stones museum in Lüchow, Germany, features Mick Jagger’s famous lips-shaped urinals. I am sure most men find them “relieving,” however some women do not.

Since the urinals do not include the tongue, some women are offended and see the urinals as nothing more than a woman’s mouth in which a man is taking a leak into. “It’s discrimination against women,” local feminist Roda Armbruster tells Hamburg based broadcast network NDR.

Saint Valentine’s Day, often simply Valentine’s Day, is a holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentinus. It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI. It is celebrated in countries around the world, mostly in the West, although it remains a working day in all of them.
