Occupy London: Eviction notice served to the St Paul’s camp 2

According to The Guardian:

The City of London Corporation has attached eviction notices to tents outside St Paul’s Cathedral, telling activists to move them from the public highways by 6pm on Thursday or face legal action.

It is the latest development in a month-long saga that has pitted the protest movement Occupy London against the corporation, the local authority for the Square Mile, and St Paul’s. Both institutions own the land around the church but only the corporation is pressing ahead with court proceedings.

The notice is addressed to “each and every person taking part in and/or having erected tents or other structures at St Paul’s Churchyard EC4″.

It reads: “Through the erection of tents and other structures, you and others involved in the Protest Camp have taken possession and control of the Red Land from the City of London Corporation without its consent.

“The Protest Camp is therefore a trespass. It is also an unreasonable obstruction of the highway. The Protest Camp does not have planning permission and causes significant harm to the area.”

Stuart Fraser, policy chairman for the corporation, told Channel 4 News on Monday he was prepared to use “all legal measures” including riot police to remove them. More…

Bill O’Reilly: The Occupy Movement is “a failure.” I am so LMAO at you, Bill…. 1

Bill O’Reilly is, once again, creating lies and twisting facts into what he, and FOX News, wants their viewers to believe.

Here is a video from his November 16th edition on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”  Trust me, I had a hard time stomaching the vomit he spewed forth.

The state ordered the protesters to clear out “all personal property, including tents, sleeping bags, and tarps.” Anything left will be removed Thursday and taken to a Department of Sanitation parking garage.

The Straw Man Comes to Zuccotti Park by Naomi Wolf | Photos from November 15 Reply

Written by:  Naomi Wolf Nov. 16, 2011

Yesterday morning, when I learned that Zuccotti Park had been cleared overnight by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg — who justified his action in a statement that cited health and safety concerns — the first thing I did was call my lawyer. I wanted to go and show my support for the protesters’ First Amendment right “to assemble and petition government for redress of grievances” — a right that a 1925 Supreme Court decision confirmed superseded municipalities’ laws that sought to restrict its exercise. But my partner and I had already been arrested on Oct. 19 for standing peacefully on Hudson Street after informing protesters outside an event I was attending of their right to assemble. The wonderful National Lawyers Guild advised us that we would probably be O.K. — the New York police department would have to alert us before a second arrest.

#occupyoakland November 2 | Black Bloc anarchy is NOT part of the Occupy Movement 6

Afterthought post-publishing:  As an after-thought after I have published this, I have stated somewhat incorrectly…. The OWS Movement welcomes all groups and people alike.  The Black Bloc is a part of OWS, just as any group.  However, the actions of the Black Bloc during the strike in Oakland does not represent what the OWS movement is about.

The 99 percent were out in force on Wednesday, November 2nd, in Oakland CA.  As many as 10,000 marchers protested income inequality and the big banks that crashed the global economy (and today are more profitable than ever). Schools and businesses closed in sympathy and solidarity, and the march even shut down the Port of Oakland, one of the busiest on the West Coast.

Occupy Oakland | Photos from strike November 2, 2011 #oo #ows 1

An estimated ten-thousand Wall Street protesters marched in the streets of Oakland on Wednesday as they geared up with labor unions to picket banks, take over foreclosed homes and vacant buildings and disrupt operations at the nation’s fifth-busiest port.

The protests marked an escalation from previous demonstrations as they went beyond boisterous rallies at park encampments and took aim at a major hub of commerce — the Port of Oakland. Organizers say they want to halt “the flow of capital” at the port.

Move Your Money Sat. November 5th: Bank Transfer Day Reply

The Move Your Money project is a nonprofit campaign that encourages individuals and institutions to divest from the nation’s largest Wall Street banks and move to local financial institutions. Little has changed to prevent another financial crisis or to end ‘Too Big To Fail,’ and with Congress unwilling to act, we are encouraging individuals to take power into their own hands by voting with their dollars and no longer contributing to a financial system that has led our country astray. We are a campaign that gives people real, concrete actions they can take to create a more sane, stable and localized banking system. More…

“They Live” a sci-fi movie from 1988 doesn’t appear to be sci-fi anymore Reply

I saw this movie when it first came out in 1988 and loved it!  But back then, it was nothing but Science Fiction.  Now, I no longer see it as fiction but as reality… as non-fiction.  The aliens merely represent the corporations and government in our world today.

Occupy camps an eye-sore? Let’s compare photos… 1

There are many comments from several “concerned” officials – and citizens – that the Occupy camps are “eyesores” and express concerns over sanitary issues.  Many city officials are using these excuses to shut down and remove camps set up within various cities around the world.

Let us take a look and compare these “eyesores” and “unsanitary” camps to other areas around the world which draw in, or have drawn in, grotesque amounts of profit… More…

Iraq vet Sean Olsen, 24, injured in #occupyoakland police raid. Photos. Video. 3

This is horrible.  A young man served our country in Iraq, came home alive only to be taken down by the police of the country of which he served.  The irony of it all.  A very sad state out country has become.

A U.S. Marine veteran is in a critical condition in hospital tonight after being injured by a police gas canister during last night’s Occupy Oakland protests, which saw running battles break out between authorities and protesters as a crowd tried to reclaim an encampment.

Scott Olsen, 24, of Daly City, California, an Iraq veteran and member of Veterans for Peace, suffered a skull fracture and brain swelling after being hit in the head during the riots. Officers had cleared the site of demonstrators around 12 hours earlier in a dawn raid where at least 85 people were arrested.

Occupy Albuquerque Oct 25 2011 | Police move in #occupyburque #ows 6

After President Schmidly, UNM, declared they would not renew the permit that has allowed Coyote Camp to function, several of the protesters formed a circle and stood their ground.  There were too many Albuquerque Police, State Police and SWAT team members that arrived to count.  Fully armed on unarmed, peaceful protesters.  The circle was peacefully arrested, but later in the night, the police used their “strong arm” to break up the 99% crowd which refused to leave.

Here is some footage from last night.  The first video is the circle singing before the arrival of the police.  The second video is the group chanting “Down with Schmidly.”  Then the next two are the police and SWAT team which arrived and pushed the crowd back into the street. Next, originally uploaded by WallStreetZombies, looks to appear to be the police pepper spraying the crowd in the street.  Last video, by MichaelFilmaker, shows the arrests of those in the circle.

Update:  Wednesday afternoon, October 26th, 2011:  Occupy Albuquerque has been told today by UNM that we are NOT allowed to protest on the UNM campus else face arrest.  Not even during normal hours of 7 AM to 10 PM.

A few photos below the videos.  Full set of photos available on here on Motley Photos.

Occupy Albuquerque permit renewel DENIED 11

Occupy Albuquerque has been functioning a base camp, called Coyote Camp, on the UNM campus since October 1st.  Initially the camp set up on the corner of University and Central, but UNM granted a permit to move Coyote Camp to it’s current location at Yale Park on the corner of Central and Yale.

Today, however, Occupy Albuquerque, aka (un)Occupy Albuquerque, has been informed that UNM will deny their right of free speech and not renew the permit, which allowed local protesters to function from 7 AM to 10 PM.

Occupy Albuquerque Oct 15 2011 | If you build it… they will come! #occupyburque Reply

The protest held in Albuquerque on Saturday, October 15th was truly a phenomenal site!  The first protest on October 1st peaked with probably just under 300 people in attendance.  Fewer attended on October 8th.  We took to the downtown streets on October 12th and protested in front of all the banks, and we had around 30 individuals that day.  We may have been small, but our voices were loud.  When October 15th arrived, I was unsure how many would attend.  When I walked to the protest site, which was in front of Wells-Fargo in Nob Hill on Central Ave, my jaw literally hit the ground and my heart soared sky-high!  People were packed 3 to 4 deep for many blocks long, all with signs in hand and hopes high.  Estimated attendance between 700 to 800.  Every age (the Raging Grannies were present!), race, religion, and socioeconomic background appeared.  All in complete support of the Occupy Wall Street and Global Change movement!  This truly was the Protest Heard Around the World!

Heart-breaking letters written to the exec’s of the big banks Reply

A site has been created called Occupy the Board Room which lists the executives of the following companies:  Goldmans Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo.  In this site, you may personally write a letter to the banker of your choice.  These are emailed directly to their inbox (full email address are not disclosed due to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
