I have created a petition on the Whitehouse.gov website in their section called, “We the People.” Here anyone is allowed to create any petition they wish. When the petition reaches 100,000 signatures in 30 days, then the White House will review and at least respond to the petition. It used to be 25,000 signatures, but thanks to every Billy-Bob that petitioned for the state to secede from the Union, the White House had to increase the number of signatures. I do not necessarily believe that miraculously this petition would be placed before Congress, but at least it catches the attention of both governmental and civilian that we are aware of the profits and exports of fuel and we demand regulation and reform. Hobby Lobby Forces Their Religious Beliefs on Their Employees 9
Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby, and it’s sister company Mardel, Inc., will defy a federal law that requires employee health care plans to provide insurance coverage for types of contraception that the firm’s owners consider to be “abortion-causing drugs and devices,” an attorney for the company said Thursday. Hobby Lobby has decided that providing birth control, specifically Plan B, or the morning after pill, to their employees through their insurance is in violation of their religious freedom under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).

Gratefully, the NRA went quiet after the shootings occurred in Newtown CT. A small amount citizens still carried on about “my right to bear arms” and cried that their guns will be taken from them. That is not true, and I hope these same people get their priorities straightened out.
In fact, a close friend of mine even made a comment about how she has a right to protect her family and home, and it was all I could do to keep my mouth shut and just walk away. No one is wanting to deny anyone of this right. But flying from San Francisco to LA doesn’t require the space shuttle either. And the pilot doesn’t become a pilot simply by filling out a form and paying a fee. There are qualifications to meet. In the wake of these murders, anyone who is more concerned about their guns than they are the lose of these innocent, trusting children can take their guns and put them were the sun doesn’t shine…. But please don’t fire them when you do. Even I don’t wish that on anyone.

Another school shooting. This time an elementary school in Newtown CT. Details are still unconfirmed and sketchy as this literally happened just a few hours ago. I have heard anywhere from 14 up into the mid-20′s killed. The shooter is reported dead, as well. The age of the deceased is unknown, whether there are children or all adults. Quick update: Ed Schultz just said 18 children and 8 adults…. Over 100 rounds fired.

Yup, finally broke down and bought a tablet. I decided to when I saw an ad that it was $100 off at a store I’d rather not mention. Why? Because I don’t like “that store” at all, but $50 less than anywhere else had it priced on sale was enough to make me tolerate going inside “that place.” No, it wasn’t Walmart. It’s one of those big box electronic stores, but all they care about is up-selling, not really helping the person get what they want and caring about what their needs are. But since I know quite a bit more than the average buyer, it’s easy for me to tell the obnoxious employee to go…. away. The nice ones I may chat with, though, if I’m in a geekie mood.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can turn into such an animal just for a discount. What’s amazes me even more is that had the crowd not been in a frenzy and everyone could lazily walk around and pick out what they want, the “grabbers” probably wouldn’t even want whatever item they just risked their lives over.

Those who have been hanging around ol’ Motley News here for a while knows that dogs are a huge part of my life. But even then, Motley Dogs was put on the back burner for several months. I started to give Motley Dogs a “face lift” (a new layout and theme), but just could not seem to find the time needed to complete this task until just recently, so she is now done. Although last night I just about gave myself a heart attack.
