Michele Bachmann declares Obamacare is killing people – Is she trying to win an Emmy with this performance? 13
Emmy Category: Political Figures who show they are just not the sharpest knife in the drawer
Here is one of my favorite politicians to make fun of, Michele Bachmann. I did miss her when she pulled out of the presidential election, but Romney filled in rather nicely. More…
Paul Ryan’s Freudian Slip about Destroying the Health Care System 9
Oh, Paul Ryan put his foot in his mouth today, and this is a perfect example of a Freudian slip. Ryan and his irk want nothing less than to destroy our current health care system, especially with the Affordable Health Care Act in place now. But protocol keeps Ryan from being blunt enough to label it as “destroying the health care system” – unless it’s a Freudian Slip. More…
Papa John’s CEO Schnatter is Full of Bologna 26
Another melodramatic multi-gazillionaire has been at it again.
Papa John’s International Chief Executive Officer John Schnatter — a supporter of former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and opponent of the Affordable Care Act — said he estimated compliance with the healthcare reform law would cost his company about $5 to 8 million annually.
The company made $1.2 billion in revenue last yer, with total operating expenses of $1.131 billion and a gross profit of $87 million.
Photos of Romney’s America Where Only 53% Matter 4
Oh, I wish I knew who lives here because I would love to shake their hand. Well, at least email them and thank them since I’m not going to travel where ever they are. And I can tell you from the photos that this home is not in New Mexico… it has something we don’t. Grass.
Anyway, enjoy. Very very creative and I think this scene should magically appear on the Romney lawn on Halloween. Yes?
That Awkward Moment… Romney Booed by the NAACP 7
Today, Mitt Romney really made a very baaaaad mistake. When speaking to the NAACP in Houston, he – once again – declared his promise to repeal “ObamaCare.” I can only imagine how his heart and stomach sunk when he was met by several seconds of boo’s from the crowd and realized the enormous mistake he made. I do wonder, however, if the booing would not have been so bad if he had used the correct name of the act, which is the Affordable Healthcare Act. When “ObamaCare” is said in the manner in which Romney does, it comes across as derogatory. Naturally Obama has supporters of all races, ages, nationalities, and so on. But he most definitely has a large amount of support from the NAACP.
The Affordable Health Care Act | Is your glass half full? Or half empty? 6
On and on people go. Either loving or hating this new act, also known as Obamacare. Yet I seriously doubt anyone has even read even a portion of it. Our system is broke, except for those who make enough money to cover the rising cost of premiums as well as the deductibles and the portions not covered by the insurer. I have heard many people retort, “this is the first time someone is being taxed for NOT buying something,” – and they have a point, but a different perspective puts a completely different look on this whole tax penalty.
Let’s take a look at this “tax penalty” from a different angle….
Right Wing Michael Savage Attempts to Tie SCOTUS Swing Judge Roberts Decision to Epilepsy Med’s 10
As many of you are aware, it was Judge Roberts whose vote was the deciding vote that Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act was constitution. Republicans, Tea Partiers, and right wingnuts alike were all very confident that SCOTUS would either declare “ObamaCare” as unconstitutional, or re-write portions of the act.
When neither happened, the right-wingers have all been scrambling to find – actually I’m not sure what – but find anything they can to appeal to everyone in the United States that this is an unconstitutional health care plan. Congress will vote, and I am sure it will pass the House, but Obama will veto it down.
Bill O’Reilly Finally “Apologizes” for Being an Idiot about the Health Care Ruling 8
Back on March 26th, Bill O’Reilly invited Caroline Frederickson, President of the American Constitution Society, on his show The O’Reilly Factor. To sum it up, O’Reilly was rude and continually talked over Caroline by insisting that she “answer the question, answer the question” but wouldn’t shut up long enough for her to answer his question – at least not give Bill the answer he wanted to hear. But Bill is what Bill is, and I will leave it at that. At the very end of the segment Bill carries on with his disdain for the Affordable Health Care Act and insists it is a mandate, a police state, etc. and says, “Miss Fredrickson, you’re going to lose, and your arguments are specious” He continues, “It is going to be 5 to 4, and if I’m wrong, I will play your clip and apologize for being an idiot.”
Mitch McConnell Cannot Answer How GOP Will Help 30 Million People 21
Since the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Health Care Act (aka “ObamaCare”), Republicant’s Republicans and Tea-Baggers Partiers alike have all been scrambling to come up with logical-sounding lies reasons as to why this new act is the most horrid thing to happen to our country. Since several of the SCOTUS judges are pretty much informally known to have been bought by certain people and companies (cough cough Koch Brothers cough cough), I am pretty sure that the GOP was confident that the Supreme Court would render an unconstitutional verdict, thus repealing one of the biggest, and most welcome, changes in health care that we have had in decades. Is the AHCA perfect? I am positive it is not. But it is a start. What we have been doing is not working, so it’s time to change. And the AHCA is modeled after one of the most successful health care systems in the world – in Switzerland.
Oh, to have been a fly on the wall of several peoples rooms and offices when this announcement came out.
