I captured a Hummingbird-Moth… with my camera 8
I had no idea there was such a creature. I stepped outside earlier this morning to take a break from the computer and noticed what was not unlike a hummingbird flitting around from flower to flower. But it’s speed just wasn’t quite fast enough. Oh, this creature could move much better than most insects, but just didn’t have that “zip-zip” of a hummingbird. Plus, it allowed me to get much closer than birds do – and that’s when I noticed the antennae. I definitely knew then that it wasn’t a hummingbird. I wanted some photos but did not come out with my camera. Luckily, it hung around long enough for me to run inside, grab my camera – and even change lens – and get a few fairly decent shots. More…
Doggie Funnies! And some cat-stuff, too 2
Wow. It’s been several months since I’ve posted dog and cat humor. Time sure flies, and my doggie-funnies folder needs to be thinned out a little bit. So here goes…. More…

The Best Captions from a Mitch McConnell Photo Caption Contest 6
Love it or hate it, Facebook can provide some damn good entertainment. Earlier today, Left Action posted this image of Sen. Mitch McConnell with that blank look of his on his face and both hands up in the air, and asked readers to caption it. More…
President Obama, a light saber, and PhotoShop… 9
No, this isn’t an answer from Johnny Carson’s “Carnac the Magnificent.” It is what you get when you combine these three items together. A photographer captured a photo of President Obama having some fun with a toy light saber (…as opposed to a real light saber?) and some young boys and uploaded on the internet. Well, what do you think is going to happen? Here are some of the better Shop-Jobs…. FYI, the last one is my favorite. More…
Amazing Footage of Russian Meteorite as It Explodes Upon Impact | Video Photos 17
A 10-ton meteor streaked at supersonic speed over Russia’s Ural Mountains on Friday, setting off blasts that injured hundreds of people possibly upwards to over a thousand. Many locals feared they were being bombed. Watch this first video below. I would think the exact same thing. The explosion shakes the ground. You can hear glass shattering all around the man taking the video. Car alarms go off all around. Then you see the people in the street panicking and running for cover. More…

Random Act of Kindness – Heartwarming Photo of NYPD Officer Buying Boots for Homeless Man. Video. 10
This image below was loaded on to NYPD’s Facebook page recently from a photo taken in early November, and it has now gone viral. I just heard about it on the news this morning, but you may have already hear the story and seen the image. Regardless, it’s worth sharing.
Larry DePrimo, from the NYPD, saw a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk without shoes, nor socks, and apparently had blisters on his feet. DePrimo stopped and talked with the man for a while. In doing so, he found out the stranger wore a size 12, so the officer went into a nearby Sketchers shoe store and bought a pair of $100 boots for a little over $75, after the store gave a discount, as well as thermal socks.
Obama and Romney Shaking Hands in the Oval Office. Caption this Photo. Humor 25
Today Mitt Romney talked had some turkey – a Presidential Turkey lunch that is – with President Obama. The two previous rivals for the top seat in the White House had their lunch together in a private dining room adjacent to the Oval Office.
What do you think they said to one another… or more likely, thought. Here are some funny captions which I found today on Facebook. Plus I have added a few of my own.
Meet My Little Friend…. 16
I have been watching this spider live and grow right outside one of our windows under our 24/7 outdoor light. I first saw this Black and Yellow Garden Spider back in August (maybe a little before that??) and have since peek to check on it from time to time. Make sure she’s in the center of her web. It really has been fascinating. She’s close to twice as large now compared to back in August. I have not seen her pounce nor do anything cool like that with her meal. But she did relocate her home – and lost a leg.

It’s Been a Great Day of Discovery 4
I was planning on working on one of my sites today, but never got around to it because I was checking out some awesome programs and apps I found on the internet. It all started out when I was checking the “Clicks” on my stat page. I watch all stats like a hawk and I want, and like, to know what links or images people are clicking on.
You may have already heard and used this online program I found, but it’s new to me and good enough to share. What that gophoto link took me to is an online program that is phenomenal!!! But let me back up just a bit.

Caption Me! A seal and some penguins…. 74
Okay, I know there are some VERY creative people out there. I must have laughed for a straight ten minutes when I saw this photo – the happy, HAPPY look on the seal’s face. Alas… captioning is NOT my forte. So let’s hear it! Give me one, give me a dozen – don’t be shy. There are no wrong answers. Then I will create and post them all like I did for the “Dog and Cat… Caught in the Act!” image.

The G’Morning Shot for April 16, 2012 8
Since “The Parting Shot” seems to be so popular, and my folder of images that I store photos I find for “The Parting Shot” is growing faster than I can post, I have decided to start the day out with a photo or image as well as end the day with one. Plus, I love photography. As with “The Parting Shot,” it will always be a surprise.
For the first “G’Morning Shot,” though, a sunrise seems appropriate, although I suppose this may be a sunset instead. Well, doesn’t matter… it is still a beautiful capture.

I am a Forever Dog, Not an Until Dog 11
Last night when I posted about the protests at the Westminster, I also included the image below which has the blurred out dog in the middle. The original image was not blurred out but featured a cute little puppy. Today, I received an email from a very kind woman, who I will call “Jayne Dough”, who informed me that she originated that graphic by using a photo of a puppy she found on the internet.

Photo of the Day | Obama in Shock and Awe 24
I love this photo of Obama. There is no faking this look on his face. President Obama invited young scientists and inventors to the White House to show off their creations. Here is a photo capture of the look on Obama’s face when 14-year-old Phoenix resident Joey Hudy designed this Extreme Marshmallow Cannon and demonstrated it at the second White House Science Fair Tuesday.
