World’s Largest Rubber Duck Bobs Along in Hong Kong 8

These photos make me grin from ear to ear.

Conceptual artist Florentijin Hofman brought his gargantuan Rubber Duck artwork to Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. The huge inflatable duck measures nearly 46 feet tall and 55 feet long and is shown above being pulled by a tug boat only a fraction of its size. Hofman is well known for his grandiose and whimsical sculptures that seem born with the primary goal of inducing as many smiles possible. Via the artist’s websiteMore…

A bystander, Derrick Hurtt, was filming the fertilizer plant fire after it erupted in West, Texas yesterday, but he got more than he planned. The explosion. What is not seen or heard are his daughters crying out in complete terror that she cannot hear and that she desperately wanting to leave.   More…

Amazing Footage of Russian Meteorite as It Explodes Upon Impact | Video Photos 17

A 10-ton meteor streaked at supersonic speed over Russia’s Ural Mountains on Friday, setting off blasts that injured hundreds of people possibly upwards to over a thousand. Many locals feared they were being bombed. Watch this first video below. I would think the exact same thing. The explosion shakes the ground. You can hear glass shattering all around the man taking the video. Car alarms go off all around. Then you see the people in the street panicking and running for cover.   More…

Some of the more dramatic photos from Hurricane Sandy 8

I grew up in tornado alley and of course there is quite a bit of difference between the two. One major difference that keeps coming to my mind is the length of time. Tornadoes are “wham bam thank ya ma’am,” whereas Sandy (which is no longer being called a hurricane) is like the Eveready Bunny… just keeps going and going and going…. I’ll take my tornadoes.

Activists Take To The Trees To Stop Keystone XL Pipeline in East Texas 10

Three pickup trucks of TransCanada’s Keystone XL construction workers are arriving on Highway 2088 outside Winnsboro, Texas. Their purpose? Tear down the trees, clear the brush, flatten the land, and erect a portion of the southern section of the Keystone XL pipeline. This pipeline, if completed, will bring the tar sands from Canada down to the Houston area where it will be refined…. then sold to China and other countries. The Canadian Tar Sands is considered to be the most destructive project on Earth.

All the while the corporate leaders and their lobbyists are continually telling the people that the Keystone XL will provide millions of jobs and stock the United States with oil for many decades to come.

Cathay Pacific Business Class: There is no other way to fly, especially on long-haul routes to Europe and the United States. Hong Kong’s flagship carrier designed its Business Class section for comfort and privacy, but was not planning on masturbation being a flight perk, too.

Age Test and Quiz: Awesome Collection of Images, Days Gone Past 4

To all the youngsters out there, born in the 80′s and after….

Anyone who was born in the 50′s, 60′s and 70′s… We are the last generation who played in the street. We are the 1st who played video games, the last to record songs off the radio on a cassette tape. We walked over a mile with no worries of being taken. We learned how to program the VCR before anyone else. We played from Atari to Nintendo. We are the generation of Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons, and Captain Kangaroo. We traveled in cars without seat belts or air bags; lived without cell phones. We did not have flat screen TVs or surround sound – in fact, we had to get up and walk over to the TV to change the station. iPods, the internet, computers, Facebook and Twitter were inconceivable. But nevertheless – WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!

Photos from Mars, and Video of the Curiosity’s Landing 4

This certainly is not the first probe or rover to be sent to Mars, but for some reason, it seems like it to me. Perhaps it is due to the very intricate landing – which went off without a hitch, or perhaps it is simply due to the internet these days. Information and photos are available worldwide the very moment they are uploaded. I believe – with me, anyway – it is a combination of both. I have been completely enthralled with Curiosity and look forward to years of data sent back to earth.

Woman with Fake Boobs Larger than Watermelons – Seriously, she’s a Z-cup 32

What is a Z-cup? A Z-cup is the German XXX Beshine who currently holds the title of “Biggest Breasts in Europe” and though she started her boob odyssey as a humble B cup, she’s now a mind boggling Z-cup, thanks to expander implants which she refills as regularly as she can.

Beshine says that she doesn’t suffer from backache due to a strict program of back strengthening but does struggle to find clothes that fit and, not surprisingly, can no longer sleep on her stomach, though apparently lying on her back or side is still possible.

RE/MAX Realtor Lists a Home for Sale as “Not Haunted” 13

RE/MAX agent Jake Palmer had been sitting on a listing for quite some time. Shortly after Christmas last year, an offer on the house was made and accepted, and the couple who currently owns the home packed their items in preparation to move out once the sale was closed upon. Shortly before the date that the sale was to be finalized, the buyer backed out and forfeited the offer, leaving the homeowners in a pickle.

The “Sold” banner had to be removed from the sale sign in the house’s yard, and any real estate agent will tell you how difficult it is to reintroduce a house to the market after it was considered sold. Potential buyers naturally presume something is wrong with the property. Haunted often crosses people’s minds. So the listing grew stale with little interest. Jake needed to do something soon with this house, so he became rather creative.

Canine Agility Trial Photos | Albuquerque NM 10

Ahhhh… finally. I picked through over 700 photos I took at a local agility trial, trashed the bad ones, then picked out some of the better to process (I shoot in raw format) and here they are. I mean, it’s only been nearly three months since I took them…. (sheepish grin)

Now, for those who are not familiar with canine agility, other than having seen it on TV, it is FUN!!! The dogs LOVE it! And should a trainer start a noobie dog and realize the dog is not interested, nor finds any enjoyment, then the trainer ceases agility with that dog. We never force any of our beloved pets into any sport if they’re not loving it. The idea is companionship, fun, and the challenge of the course as well as racing against the clock as well as other dog’s times in the advanced levels.

Memorial Day | Just in case you thought it was National BBQ Day 19

I must admit, in years past, especially in youth through young adult, Memorial Day was nothing more than a three-day weekend, barbeques, picnics and fun. And it still is… to an extent. For me, this year Memorial Day just feels different. I am opposed to war. Especially the one in Afghanistan right now. It seems as though we have lost the reason as to why our troops are there. How is our invasion presence helping protect America? Is that not what our military is for? To protect our country? It seems to have evolved into something else. Personally, I think the War on Terrorism is nothing more than a scare tactic being used on the US citizens in order to justify being in Afghanistan. But this post is about Memorial Day, so with that I will move on.

Photos from Annular Solar Eclipse, May 20 2012, Albuquerque NM 37

Here are some photos from the annular eclipse on May 20, 2012. All taken in Albuquerque, New Mexico right next to the airport.

Myself and my friend, Dave, were the first two there as we got there early. Shortly another car rolled in, and another. We ended up having about 15 cars there. Most people were from out of state. Our “neighbors” came in from North Carolina. There was another gentleman from Maryland. I heard another woman mention she was from Kansas City, MO… and so on. Several telescopes were set up. Everyone bounced around from telescope to telescope to see the event. It was a wonderful day.

War on Women March, Santa Fe NM April 28 | Photos 21

I would like to share some photos – which are further down this page below the video – that I took in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for the national march protesting the Republican Party’s “War on Women.” Not surprisingly, the GOP is now denying that they are waging any war on the women in our country. How can they not see what is as plain on the nose on our faces? Because extreme right wing conservatives believe firmly in a hierarchical system. Men are at the top. Excuse me… white men. Followed by white women… about 5 steps behind, pregnant and getting ready to cook their dinner. Any one else is of little to no importance to them – unless they serve a purpose as Allen West does in Florida.

TX Tornadoes Toss Semi-Trucks Like Toys | Footage and Photos 4

Incredible footage of semi-trailer trucks literally sucked up in the air and tossed around as though they are match-box toys. Footage from the tornadoes which struck Dallas-Ft Worth on Tuesday. Heavy damage, yet no casualties. Very lucky.

If you have not seen this footage, it is amazing. I am from tornado alley, and my jaw still drops when I watch this. Found a nice HD upload from the CNN coverage, so you can really see nature at work here.
