I firmly believe each and everyone of us has a choice of our freedom of religion.  However, our country was founded on the separation of church and state.  When mixing politics and religion, one is only opening up a whole new can of worms.  The religious background of any political leader will differ from a significant percentage of the citizens of their country.  Therefore, how can one impose their own religious views upon those of others which vary?
