Kayak Fisherman Rescues Dog Swimming Off the Coast in the Gulf of Mexico | Video 10

Just so happens that a man fishing solo off of the Siesta Key Coast in the Gulf of Mexico was running a camcorder of his fishing.  I am assuming it was to hopefully film a nice catch, and since he was fishing alone, he had to mount the camera and keep it running.  Well, what he did not expect to catch was a dog… swimming alone and completely terrified.

Here is the story according to Huffington Post as well as the video taken by the fisherman: More…

2011 in Review | Remembrance of Those Who Passed 8

As is any given year, many notables, both famous and infamous, passed on.  There are far too many to list them all, but here are a few which touched our hearts in various ways.  They are all listed in chronological order from January, 2011, to December, 2011.  Due to the length of this, I have added a list in alphabetical order (last name, first name) tagged to anchors so you may jump to who you would like to view. CCA to Build a Privatized US Immigrant Prison in Florida 5

If you are not familiar with private prisons, they are prisons built and owned by private companies, stockholders, shareholders, etc.  Each investor makes a profit for each inmate housed in their private prison company.

Why should you be concerned about criminals and prisons?  Because the vast majority of those held in these prisons should NOT be there!  The laws and courts are sentencing an ever increasing number of citizens, and illegal immigrants, to prison purely for profit.  Take note of the correlation of the rise of the prison population is equal to the origination of these prisons in the early 1980′s.  Now with the passing of NDAA FY2012, and the threat of SOPA, this makes any normal, law-abiding citizen a potential candidate to reside in a private prison. Touched by a Mountain Gorilla 4

Absolutely amazing encounter of a troop of wild gorillas which wandered into this camp.  On Dec. 11, King was in a private safari camp near Bwindi National Park, in Uganda, to see mountain gorillas. Apparently, they wanted to see him, too.  He was sitting beside a trail when a family of wild gorillas joined him.  Curious about their fellow primate, at least two of the gorillas touched King’s head and neck, smelled him and tasted him on their fingers.  I can only imagine how his heart was racing during this whole time.  Although typically not agressive, a male Silverback does have the strength to tear apart a man limb by limb in only a few mere seconds should he feel his family is being threatened. Careful… Guam may tip over 5

Yes, I am on the slow boat from China here….  I completely missed this back in March/April 2010.  If you haven’t seen it, well, it will make you cry either from laughing so hard, or from the realization that someone like this is an elected official – or both.  He ate too many paint chips as a child.  Too bad I missed this… would have had fun with creating some meme’s of this footage….

In this video footage of a House Armed Services Committee hearing, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) is afraid that the U.S. Territory of Guam is going to “tip over and capsize” due to overpopulation. More…

TIME 2011 Person of the Year: The Protester 4

Mannoubia Bouazizi, the mother of Tunisian street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi, says, "Mohamed suffered a lot. He worked hard. But when he set fire to himself, it wasn’t about his scales being confiscated. It was about his dignity."

The decision has been made.  The Protester is TIME Magazines Person of the Year, and what a wonderful choice.

The Protester is not dreaming of nor coveting millions of dollars, nor titles such as President, Ruler, King, Queen, Sheik, etc.  All The Protester is wanting is a fair shake at life.  The ability and opportunity to find gainful employment, take care of their family, keep a roof over their head and food on their table, the ability for quality health care, reasonable tuition for a higher education… these are only a few of the many desires the average citizen of all countries want, including our own.

And this year, they spoke and will continue to speak until change is made for the betterment and fairness for all. More…

UC Davis Photos and Video of pepper spray incident. Are we in a police state? #ows 4

Our country has evolved right before our very eyes into a police state.  Yes, a police state.  Many cringe at these words and deny their existence within our own country, but look at what has been going on.  Our First Amendment’s right to free speech and peaceful assembly is being blatantly denied.  City by city, camp by camp, the police are coming in armed for warfare and using violent tactics and pepper spray on completely unarmed individuals.  Where is our President during all this?  Until recently, I have fully supported Obama, but now, I have some serious doubts as to whether he is acting in behalf of the people of our country – or if he is acting in behalf of those people “behind the curtain” holding all the money and corruption – in other words, the Oligarchs.  Does our president need to be reminded of these very words he spoke by on January 28th in regards to the Egyptian Revolution? Photos / Video of Occupy Wall Street “Day of Action” Nov 17th #ows 1

Today, Thursday November 17th, marked the two-month anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement.  Just 60 days ago, a few hundred arrived at Wall Street to take up camp and occupy the area in protest to the greed and corruption within our government and corporations.  The main stream media refused to cover the inaugural event instead covering such events such as the Tea Party.  Many scoffed and did not believe this would take hold.  Now the media cannot get enough coverage especially since this only brings in more profit.  Look at how this has grown throughout the country with an Occupy movement in nearly every major city, and hundreds of smaller “home towns.”  Not only has this spread throughout the United States, but has taken hold world-wide. Bill O’Reilly: The Occupy Movement is “a failure.” I am so LMAO at you, Bill…. 1

Bill O’Reilly is, once again, creating lies and twisting facts into what he, and FOX News, wants their viewers to believe.

Here is a video from his November 16th edition on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”  Trust me, I had a hard time stomaching the vomit he spewed forth.

Occupy Albuquerque Oct 15 2011 | If you build it… they will come! #occupyburque Reply

The protest held in Albuquerque on Saturday, October 15th was truly a phenomenal site!  The first protest on October 1st peaked with probably just under 300 people in attendance.  Fewer attended on October 8th.  We took to the downtown streets on October 12th and protested in front of all the banks, and we had around 30 individuals that day.  We may have been small, but our voices were loud.  When October 15th arrived, I was unsure how many would attend.  When I walked to the protest site, which was in front of Wells-Fargo in Nob Hill on Central Ave, my jaw literally hit the ground and my heart soared sky-high!  People were packed 3 to 4 deep for many blocks long, all with signs in hand and hopes high.  Estimated attendance between 700 to 800.  Every age (the Raging Grannies were present!), race, religion, and socioeconomic background appeared.  All in complete support of the Occupy Wall Street and Global Change movement!  This truly was the Protest Heard Around the World!

But despite his material and social advantages, he’s depressed, and decides to create one last video project, ending in his own suicide.

Across the country, teens who are sympathetic to the main character of the film, have experienced or have friends who have experienced suicidal thoughts, or have suffered from bullying, have been declaring, “I’m an Archie”.

Well, Archie is now joining the #occupy movement…  Watch the video just uploaded.

Video showing the capture of Gaddafi **Graphic** Reply

I was torn about posting this video, it is graphic.  You feel as though you are there.  But I decided it should be shared…. it is your choice to watch.

In the very beginning at about 6 seconds, even though the cell phone camera is moving all over, you can see Gaddafi’s mouth moving…. probably pleading.

Update post publishing:  When I first watched this, I thought he was dead by mid-video.  I watched it a few more times, and he is still alive… pleading as they lift him in the back of the transport.  I did change the title to reflect this is not the video showing him being killed.

Al Jazeera has acquired exclusive footage of the body of Muammar Gaddafi after he was killed in his hometown, Sirte.

Abdul Hafiz Ghoga, vice chairman of Libya’s National Transitional Council, confirmed that the ousted leader had been killed on October 20, 2011 near Sirte.

“We announce to the world that Muammar Gaddafi has been killed at the hands of the revolutionaries,” Ghoga told a news conference in Benghazi.

The news came shortly after the NTC captured Sirte after weeks of fighting.
