I am relatively new to the blogging scene with this site having been born in early April. What I am even newer to is the WordPress community. It has only been the past couple of months that I have started clicking on the avatars of some interesting comments on one blog, bounce to another blog, and another and another, all continuing to find more wonderful posts, photography, humor, news, etc. A virtual cornucopia of a cyber-world of information. I have subbed so many sites now that my inbox is never empty, and I check out each and every post notification. So when I received a Candle Lighter award from The Ranting Liberal, I was tickled pink!
Now, being new to the WP blogging community, this also means I am new to these awards. I am not positive, but I believe that I am to continue on with the award by choosing five sites and listing them here. One thing is for sure… every time I have seen another blogger post their award recipients after having been nominated, there is always a struggle on choosing which ones. I agree with this dilemma one-thousand percent. So many incredible blogs… and I can only choose five? Ahhhh… hell! Now where I am definitely confused is how do I let these bloggers know that I have chosen them for the Candle Lighter Award??? Or do I? Seems kind of silly if I don’t… So, please comment below and let me know.
What is the Candle Lighter Award? According to Dave, the Ranting Liberal, it is to recognize “anyone who lights the world with their work”. I must admit, though, that this truthfully baffles me since I tend to post a lot of the stinky stuff going on in the world… and I definitely have become more vocal by including my opinions more and more frequently. When I first started blogging, I was a bit reserved, which I’m sure comes from being raised by “old-school” parents whose philosophy was much the same as Thumpers….
If you can’t say somethin’ nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.
Well, my Thumper-osophy has definitely worn off. 😀
