OMG… this is hilarious! If you are not familiar with The Onion, it is a site purely of satire. Apparently, Republican Rep. John Fleming was not aware of this and posted an article from The Onion titled, “Planned Parenthood Opens $8 Million Abortionplex” as factual on his Facebook page. Deb Ratner’s response is golden as she comments, “The Onion is satire. How exactly did you get elected?” She shoots, she scores! Three points for Deb Ratner!!!

.

Additionally, this gross error had been updated in Wikipedia, but in the style of Newt Gingrich, has since been removed. Here is a screenshot capture for a historical keepsake.

And a BIG THANK YOU to polentical for posting this wonderfully hilarious post and bringing a big smile to my face on Hump Day.

Once again, here is my reaction to John Fleming:

The Onion is MY primary source for World News. Congressman Fleming is doing a fine job and has my full support!

  2. This was hilarious. The article talked about the Abortionplex surrounded by a sprawling complex of surrounding shops, entertainment and movie theaters. Really good question about how a “Moroon” could get elected. Chances are that when it comes time for re-election, voters will (again) forget.

    1. Of course they will forget. Never ceases to amaze me. And Gnewt’s little tantrum on Air Force One with Clinton, then shut down the government because of it.

  3. That was hilarious 🙂 But lately I’ve been having a hard time telling my NPR posts and Onion posts apart on my newsfeed. Which is sad.

    1. So, is that what they do with the bills that come through office? Just look at the title and then “nay” or “yay” without even reading the content? Looks like it.
