NY Times, in December, uncovered an agreement made between the Trump Administration and the tiny country of Palau to accept up to 75 “third country nationals” who cannot be returned to their home nations and have no criminal background. Additionally, Palau will receive $7.5 million and other aid.

What is unknown is if these “third country nationals” are free to live as they wish upon arriving in Palau – which is not such a bad deal if they are free to live as they wish. Although, they may be leaving family members behind, which is highly likely.

However, if these nationals are confined and forced to work without pay – possibly even with pay – then that is the legal definition of human trafficking.

The legal definition of human trafficking, as defined by U.S. federal law, is the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel a person into performing a commercial sex act or for labor or services against their will.

We know that the Trump Administration does not care what happens to these undocumented – and even documented – immigrants once they leave our shores, so I would not be surprised if they arrive in Palau only to remain confined and forced to work without pay.

This brings up many related questions… Just how many agreements similar to this has this administration made with other countries? Why are WE paying other countries, out of OUR tax dollars, to take these people? They may have been here without legal papers, but they, most likely, were working and adding to our economy.

From the rumor mill, the Trump administration received payment from CECOT when Trump was sending immigrants to a torturous prison made for terrorists. But that is rumor, I have no reference – only talk in social media. But it fits Trump’s mentality and lack of compassion and humanitarianism.

With having no transparency, only lies, out of the White House, we’ll never know until a new administration moves in.

Go ahead… I can hear your thoughts. Please share with the rest!
