Apple logo tribute to Steve Jobs, “Thanks, Steve”
Apple recently announced the passing of their beloved co-founder and chairman of the board, Steven P. Jobs (1955 – 2011), sparking an unstoppable flow of tributes coming from all corners of the world. This touching logo tribute, simply named “Thanks, Steve.” was created by Jonathan Mak Long, a 19-year-old designer living in Hong Kong. The silhouette of Jobs’ face as the bite in the Apple appears to be taken from the cover of ‘Inside Steve’s Brain’, a book about Steve Jobs written by Leander Kahney. #iSad.
I know there is much backlash for this design for the designer. I actually like this design better than the one he has been accused of coping. I think Jonathan Mak Long should offer this design to the cause that the “original” designer started. As they say there is no bad press, so let it bring good to the world and let the two sides come together in peace harmony and hopefully many donated dollars. Good luck to both designers in their current stuggles. God Bless you both.
