“My father’s car” A true story of love between a father, his two sons and a 1965 Chevy Impala SS

With all the turmoil and violence occurring throughout the world currently, I decided it was time for a “feel good” posting.  Here is a story of the love between a father and his two sons.

In 1965, Herb Younger purchased a new 1965 Chevy Impala SS.  This car was his baby.  For twenty years, he cared for this car and kept it in pristine condition.  However, when it was time for his two sons to go to college, Herb’s love for his sons was more important than the Impala so he sold the car to help pay for his sons’ tuition.

Several years later, the two sons, Jared and Derek, found a way to pay their father back for the love and devotion he showed them.

A very well-made and touching story, even if you are not a vintage or muscle car fan (but the car is sweet!).

  1. Nice. thank you. although everything going on is SO important, i have become incredibly burned out as of late. this is a very nice change of pace.

        • K. I’ll call you shortly. Having a bad MS day and had to come home from work early to lay down. Just got up so a bit groggy. Waiting for coffee to kick in. Sorry… I so totally forgot to call the other night. I so rarely use the phone anymore…

Go ahead... I can hear your thoughts. Please share with the rest!
