The Parting Shot for February 6, 2012
This is a photo I took of a little girl playing in a park.
Children have neither past nor future; they enjoy the present, which very few of us do.

Your photos grow lovelier day by day.
Thank you. I actually took this one in December at a Stop Genetically Modified Chili and Occ Albq protest.
That’s beautiful Michelle. Really impressive shot. But at first I read your comment too fast, and for an instant I thought you said that you took it at a “Stop Genetically Modified Child protest” and I was like ‘Oh Man! Now what are they messing with out there?!” Chili isn’t quite as bad… Lol
LOL… I just realized I spelled chili wrong. I spelled it according to the type of chili I grew up with. Here it’s spelled “chile.” Oops. Red or green?
Lol – now where’s that damn spell check when ya need it, huh? I prefer my genetically modified child to be green. 😉
If they stay out in the sun too long here, they’ll definitely be red.
Especially the fair haired and light skinned ones… kinda like you. You must use lots of sun block, huh?
No, actually I rarely use sun block. I may be Swiss on my mothers side, but I didn’t inherit “soft” skin that burns easily.
You’re fortunate. My mother was red haired and freckled. I didn’t get the red hair and freckles, but I did get the light skin that makes me a UFO – or unidentified frying object, if I’m out in strong sun w/o sunblock for longer than an hour.
‘O to be
ever as she…
a lovely photo…and a worthy subject Michelle. continue…
Beautifully said, Tony. And thank you.
I’ve already told you that you have a natural gift, but what I truly find fascinating is that the way you digitally process your images makes them appear exactly as I would like my own to appear… they have a distinct quality which is very similar to those exposed with Holga cameras using film. I have been attempting to create a very similar style before I encountered your photographs with no success, but you have achieved it. I’m not much of a digital photographer; I’m an old style film and darkroom type, but you are a fabulous digital image creator. I really enjoy your work.
Thanks. GIMP can do all this.
This is a beautiful picture Michelle you captured her fragility and he curiousity in this shot
Thank you. She was running all around and I had the camera on manual focus, so I was so jazzed when I got home and uploaded it and saw I got her in focus.
