The Parting Shot for February 13, 2012
This is a photo I took of a hot air balloon flying low overhead.
To best see it, click on the image once to enlarge, then again for full size.
This is one day of my Project 365: A Photo a Day for a Year. So, please check out the new additions.
The Balloonist’s Prayer:
May the winds welcome you with softness.
May the sun bless you with its warm hands.
May you fly so high and so well that God joins you in laughter
And sets you gently back into the loving arms of Mother Earth.

gorgeous shot and print. continue…
Thank you!
Brings back fond memories of my flight back in the ’80s. The balloon was the “Morning Glory.” It was green at the bottom like the sepals of a flower, and the rest was a gorgeous bright blue. The picture I have of it includes an intensely blue sky just like this one.
BTW, what kind of camera do you use?
Canon Rebel t2i. I just had my standard lens for that shot, 55mm.
I also shoot in raw format as I have found the photos are just so much more clear and fine, and much easier to adjust in photoshop.
The sharpness of detail is really amazing.
Thanks!
That was one nice thing about the house I just moved out of. It was just a few miles south of the balloon park and I frequently see the balloons fly nearly every morning except during the heat of the summer.
I’m one of those who will practically drive off the road rubbernecking at interesting stuff in the sky. Balloons were a rare treat in Oklahoma and I haven’t seen any at all since moving to Colorado.
This is one thing we do get to see quite a bit of here in ABQ.
lovely everything
Excellent photo…
Thank you. They’d been flying around fairly close for several minutes, then I left the house. Stopped at a light, looked up and there they were. Could practically touch them. So grabbed the camera and shot away.
Beautiful shot Michelle.
Thanks so much!
My god, that blue is painfully gorgeous. Fantastic pic, transported me right to where they are…
Why, thank you! Yes, very blue sky. Too much of it, tho. Need rain badly.
