Fire and Ice
A rare thing occurred here at home last week…. I woke up to a bit of snow on the ground. I now live south of Albuquerque, almost to the Isleta Pueblo, and close to the bosque (Rio Grande river). We simply just do not get much snow, if any, here. Plenty in the mountains and high desert, but not down in the valley where I live.
Therefore when I awoke and saw the white, out came the camera to capture some photos of fire and ice before the sun got too high and melted it all.

Those are great shots (as always), She. El Guapo thinks you may have gotten almost as much snow as he’s had in New York this winter.
Thanks. Yeah, the rest of the country has not had much either.
Ahem … perhaps that’s because it all fell here a couple of weeks ago, and still hasn’t melted.
Oh, yeah. That’s right. You were the target. π
jeeeez, these are gorgeous Michelle, good eye. continue…
Thank you!
Awesome photos! I was very surprised when I got stuck in Albuquerque by a big snowstorm in January of 1986. This was during a road trip for my job set to end in Vegas. If I were the superstitious type, I’d take that snowstorm, and later when the grand canyon was too socked in to even see, as bad omens, because the Challenger disaster happened right before we got to Vegas.
Interesting. I didn’t move here until 2000, so wasn’t here during that snowstorm. I was back in Indiana probably stuck in a blizzard up there.
These are all really nice Michelle. The second shot especially – It looks like jewelry.
Thanks! My favorite is the first one – when you zoom in you can see little sparkles of light.
I’m liking the lightplay with ice and branches.
For me, it’s the black and white of the branch and berry’s somewhat silhouetted by the sun … good, good schtuff! π π
Thank you! I love black and white, and that’s what I was originally going to do with those photos… but the color from the rising sun was too nice to not use.
Love the photos π
