The Republican Party’s War on Women

Great video. When hearing the women quote, word for word, some statements made by some very prominent people, they become even more powerful in exposing the harsh reality of the war the Republican Party has started with women. The GOP has got a serious problem with women. Until they get over their issues, women have got a serious problem with the GOP.

Ladies, and men who support women’s causes and rights, please… the time is now to make your stand. Write your congressman, your district Rep, Senator, sign petitions, march, blog, post, cross-post, share, just keep it going and growing. We women have made such advances in the past several decades, so let’s not start going backwards in time.

Here are the quotes given in this short video by MoveOn.org – and the first one really has me hot under the collar. I would love to know who said that, I really would.

Republican lawmaker (name not given):  “Forcing women to have an ultrasound before an abortion is justified because they already made the decision to be vaginally penetrated when they got pregnant.”

Rep. Bob Morris (R):  “The agenda of Planned Parenthood includes sexualizing young girls through the Girl Scouts.”

Rush Limbaugh:  “If we’re going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

Sen. Rick Santorum (R):  “A woman impregnated through rape should accept that horribly created gift. The gift of human life. Accept what God has given you and make the best of a bad situation.”

  1. Great video! If what they say and do wasn’t so nauseating and deeply disturbing, it would almost be fun to watch, as the far right religious and social conservatives politically flush the GOP down the toilet. Hear that whooshing water sound, Republicans? That’s your November election going down the tubes, thanks to your morally reprehensible and strategically idiotic “war on women”! Those women are gonna come out and vote in droves, but NOT for the GOP!

      • The rise of the Tea Party gave the full spectrum of right wing nuts a national power and influence boost, but now that’s on the wane, and the back lash has already started. The pendulum is going to come swinging back and hit them hard!

  2. Well, I’ve listened to the Girl Scouts ad on the radio and it talks about the scouts rock climbing, fixing up a 66 Mustang, and making a webpage…No where does it talk about the scouts having an orgy as this lawmaker seems to imagine…

Must have a dirty mind to think of such things…

  3. Great video, but I’ve now spent 20 minutes on Google looking for an attribution for that first quote, and can’t seem to find it. So it worries me that MoveOn’d start the video with it. You can be damn sure when this gains traction that the GOP will demand evidence this was actually said by a Republican lawmaker, and if it was, at what level of government. I mean, was it some low-ranking small town councilperson or someone on the national stage that could actually be said to represent the national party? If it can’t be properly attributed it’d be a shame, because the other attributed quotes are plenty damning without that first one.

Go ahead... I can hear your thoughts. Please share with the rest!
