Prickly Pear cactus flowers are some of my favorites. 1) I’m not allergic to them and 2) the represent the American West so well. Great picture, Michelle! Thanks for posting it.
LOL… I have never heard of anyone being allergic to cacti, but I suppose it could happen. Thanks for the compliment. I do like how it came out.

Happy Sunday Evening, Don! Just got home from seeing the “Avengers” in 3D. I didn’t like the first half, but enjoyed the 2nd half.
I’m always amazed that something as inhospitable as a cactus in the desert produces such colorful blossoms. They are like the plant’s apology for being so prickly.
LOL… that’s a very interesting way of looking at it. Often times, though, the flowers only halfway bloom then wither away. When they do that, it is not attractive at all. Rather an eyesore, actually, of the entire plant is full of them.
