‘Game of Thrones’ uses George W Bush’s decapitated head in a few scenes. Some angered.
I’m still laughing at this…. Game of Thrones is an American medieval fantasy television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. According to the National Post, in Season 1 DVD commentary, “The last head on the left is George Bush,” show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explain referring to a scene where Sansa Stark is forced to look at the head of her decapitated father (Sean Bean, not George Bush, but can you imagine?). “George Bush’s head appears in a couple of beheading scenes. It’s not a choice, it’s not a political statement. We just had to use whatever head we had around.” However, several people have noticed and became angered by this and demanded to know why George W. Bush’s head was in some of the scenes.

“We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can’t afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush,” Benioff and Weiss said. “In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former president and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise.”
Benioff and Weiss have since released a statement apologizing for any “perceived disrespect.” It is worthy to point out, however, that the scene with the decapitated heads on sticks are those people who were traitors in the HBO series.
For its part, HBO has also released a statement, saying the head was in “very poor taste” and would be removed from all future DVD releases of Game of Thrones‘ first season. Which, as Gawker rightly points out, makes your Game of Thrones Season 1 DVD a collectors item.
Hmmphh…. Although it’s in low demand I guess it’s nice to know that George W Bush head has been put to use.

Personally I don’t think it was.
I love Game of Thrones….and as El Guapo said they are very clever so I am not convinced it wasn’t intentional either.
I’ve never watched it. May have to do so now.
Oh this show is GREAT… I usually only watch news, history, science and military channels…Oh an Amazing Race but this I make sure to watch

Now I know that I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that this very same statement was overheard back in 2,000 when spoken by Dick Cheney in a phone conversation with Don Rumsfeld, about their need for a figurehead US President who wouldn’t get in the way or become a problem during the joint effort of Halliburton and the DOD to secretly take over control of the executive branch of the US government.
Cheney obviously wasn’t very impressed with GWB’s head in the beginning, but during his conversation with Rumsfeld, both men soon realized that Bush’s head was actually just what they needed to successfully execute their plan.
History would eventually confirm that they made the right choice for their purposes, but one of the worst choices ever for America.
And Mitt Romney is their next head they hope to put in the White House…. so very scary.
Very scary indeed. Been watching how the price of oil has been dropping lately, and it’s down 25% since May. This is good news at the gas pumps for us with much lower gas prices, instead of much higher prices, which is what usually happens in the summer.
But the bad news is that the substantial drop in oil prices means that the big cats in the oil futures market are running scared, because they fear the possibility of a global financial crisis that will be severe enough to substantially lower the world demand for oil.
If this happens we’re all basically screwed economically because the resulting recession will be brutal.
And what does this have to do with Romney? It could put him in the White House because if the economy tanks badly before November, American voters will vote against Obama, in a knee jerk reaction to blame the incumbent for the bad and worsening economy, even though this doesn’t make sense, because the problems that are driving the worsening economy preexisted Obama. But it wouldn’t be the first time, if a majority of American voters vote stupidly.
This past thursday, Moody’s downgraded the debt rating of 15 international banks due to concerns that these banks are holding too much debt that may not get paid back. This is a very ominous sign, and why the guys in the oil trading pits are scared of oil futures.
Sorry to be the bearer of such potentially dark news… but hey, it still might not happen, or at least might not happen fast enough to elect Romney president, so no point in worrying too much about it yet.
george bushes head ? or his “twin” . that is funny because back in may 20008 i was in west palm beach , florida headed for a short cruise and my daughter and son in law stopped to run into a drug store and while there a man came up on a bike dressed in tennis whites to talk to some people right in front of the car and that man from every angle looked exactly like george bush. i did not know what they did with the camera and by time they came out he had left. i was hoping i could talk the man into letting me get a picture . so as far i am concerned that “head” is a copy of that mans in west palm beach so lighten up.
sorry for error i meant 2008 though at times it feels time is flying at my age.
