First off, thank you Phil, aka “egg sucking pup.” This is a great video of a little girl who is more aware of the consequences of Romney as president than any of the other members in her family who are all older then she is. Her parents, her frisky grandparents, big brother, and big sis.

Written in the style that seems to be a blend of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with Dr Suess. Then add a bit of Scrooge by having Samuel L. Jackson magically appear and explain to this family what the future would be like if Romney were to be elected. Jackson is very emphatic at to  why they need to…

WAKE…

  1. I’m a little offended by the girl using such language and that kind of language being used around her. Kids are off limits to stuff like that in my world. I’m for Obama all the way but this is stirring up a hornet’s nest for the other side.

  3. I think this is great! And it’s the funniest political ad I’ve ever seen. All the comments I’ve seen posted with this ad as it has circulated have also been incredibly positive. I respect some may feel offended by the young girl saying the “F” word, but come on… in reality, the “F” word is heard by kids routinely and used by them on a regular basis as well. The “F” word is the most versatile curse word in the English language. Though I’d prefer children not curse, it happens, and in this context, I feel it is incredibly appropriate.

We really do need to Wake The F**k Up, and I love the fact the child is the one who sees the truth and tells the adults to wake up! Sometimes, using the “F” word to make an impact is what one needs to do… and… out of the mouths of babes, as the saying goes.

    1. It grabs one’s attention – otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about it now. Shows how much this girls future means to her and doesn’t want it thrown away because of Romney.

      1. I completely agree! The young one gives a shit; so much so that she shocks her elders into giving a shit as well. It is a wonderfully done piece.

  4. I think it’s brilliant Michelle, and I agree with Rose on both kids and the “F” word and in the beauty of a child being the one to see the truth. Besides that, I’m a huge Samuel L. Jackson fan! 😀

  5. An engaging video that’s so much more effective than all the negative ads out there. Still, I’m an old prude and the F-bomb always makes my skin crawl, especially coming from a little girl. I’d slap my grandkids silly if I ever heard them say it.

    1. But it caught your attention. If she’d yelled, “Wake up you silly people, wake up!” it wouldn’t have near the effect it does now.

    2. Speaking of negative ads… I really would like to hear what Romney has to offer – even though I may not agree or like it, but I want to hear it. But it’s to the point now all he does is bash Obama. That is not productive, does not help me at all. And I’m sure Obama does his share too. But I know a lot more about Obama’s plans so I don’t watch him as much, although I do love to hear him speak. And honestly, he doesn’t sling mud quite as bad as Romney. And doesn’t leave you hanging by not saying how he’s going to “fix” it. Obama tells you.
