Are we the enemy? Things that make you go, “Hmmmm…”
Here is another installment of “Things that make you go, ‘Hmmmm…'” but this time it is a bit more serious. Although using Keanu Reeves image with that spacy “uhhhh” look is meant to be humorous, this image with captions below did make me stop and think. There is a point here. Bradley Manning’s most serious charge is “aiding the enemy”, a capital offense which could land him life in prison if found guilty. Wikipedia has an excellent write-up of the facts behind Manning.
Of course anything published on the internet is available around the world, which is mostly likely why Manning has been charged with “aiding the enemy.” Although I cannot find any SEO statistics on the hits, county origin, age, gender, etc, I would be willing to bet that the majority of readers of WikiLeaks are Americans. Especially the leaks from Manning.
In keeping this in mind, are we the enemy?

I think the enemy is amorphous in that case, and the crime is releasing classified documents.
Though the argument can be made that those in other countries do have access to the internet and US urls.
