Today a Norman Rockwell painting came back to life but represented Obama’s girls this time. Another sad day in America.

Unless you live under a rock, today is the day the NRA stooped to an all time low, lower-than-maggots-on-a-rotting-carcus-low, and brought a taboo subject into this hateful, political war… Obama’s children. It has been an unwritten rule that ALL children of the First Families are off limits to the press and political bullshit. This only goes to show just how little the NRA cares or respects people. All they care about are selling their guns. Their “2nd Amendment Rights” – which are NOT nor NEVER have been threatened… unless you’re a thug, a felon, or a threat. Perfect example, the state of Tennessee has suspended the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, CEO of Tactical Response, who recently said he would “start killing people” should President Obama take executive action on gun control.

If that’s not a threat to the general public, then I don’t know what it. But I’m sure Obama knows as he and his family are the most death-threatened First Family in history.

A political artist, Tracy Knauss, whose work I follow posted on Facebook a Photoshopped image of a famous Norman Rockwell painting today, and boy did it strike my heart and nearly made me sick. The painting is called, “The Problem We All Live With.” According to Wikipedia:

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAThe Problem We All Live With is a 1964 painting by Norman Rockwell. An iconic image of the civil rights movement in the United States, it depicts Ruby Bridges, a six-year-old African-American girl, on her way in to an all-white public school in New Orleans on November 14, 1960 during the process of racial desegregation. Because of threats and violence against her, she is escorted by four U.S. Deputy Marshals; the painting is framed such that the marshals’ heads are cropped at the shoulders. On the wall behind her is written the racial slur “nigger” and the letters “KKK”; a smashed tomato thrown at Bridges is also visible. The white crowd is not visible, as the viewer is looking at the scene from their point of view.”

Tracy simply duplicated the young and innocent Ruby to now represent the two Obama girls.

People… this is closer to the truth than many realize – or don’t want to realize.

Never before has the protection of the First Family ever been in question. Oh sure, many have grumbled about the cost, as I’m sure it’s not cheap. But common sense has ALWAYS prevailed… the president, whether black or white, Democrat or Republican, has enemies – and a lot of them. In many cultures, the way to truly hurt an enemy is to hurt that enemy’s family, not the enemy themselves.

The NRA has since pulled their ad from their website, but it doesn’t matter. It’s already been reposted all over, and I am sure the NRA will not ask anyone to remove it for copyright reasons. I am confident they want the ad to be played over and over and over again.

There is one portion of this ad that really should frighten every soul out there. At 24 seconds into the ad, the NRA is complaining about how Obama wants “gun free [school] zones.” Isn’t that what everyone wants???? A true gun-free school zone means then that there is no reason, no worry about any student being shot and killed. It’s a goal that will take a lot of work and some time, but is possible…. and that’s what the NRA doesn’t want.

That part of the ad right there shows how the NRA cares more about putting guns in everyone’s hands than they care about the safety of the children.

Today was a horrid, horrid day in America. The NRA has reared their ugly head and roared louder than ever before. Until their monetary umbilical cord they have to Congress is severed, then nothing will change. And innocent people will continue to be slaughtered.

BTW… did anyone hear Obama or Biden or anyone for that matter make any statement that they wanted to take everyone’s guns away? Yeah, I didn’t hear that either.

  1. The amount of disrespect shown our President and his wife has been deplorable and shameful. Most Americans agree, it should not be. Never do you EVER go after the children, that action is lower than below the belt and no person with respect or dignity would feel it is fair game.

There is some deep dirty deals going on with the NRA and our congress and senate. Gun Manufactures and ammunition have run a muck. I had my fill when I sat waiting to know if my daughter was ok, hurt, alive during that horrid day at Columbine, that was 14 years ago.
I feel we as a nation have a domestic terrorist activity going on and the NRA is running it seriously.

We have been held hostage by the NRA because the have a vodoo $$$ going on with law makers, those we elect into office. Pay offs? Kick backs? I don’t know I just know those that we have elected to represent our best interest have been bought by this NRA organization and we are being held hostage by them. We are living in a war like environment, Malls, Movie Theaters, Streets, 7-11, Wal-Mart, Schools, Office buildings – We don’t know when it will happen but are fully aware now more than ever, it has a likely hood of happening,

This ad the NRA put out, I just saw it on Current TV being ripped to shred on View Point, the NRA organization is being a bully..and picking on the kids, made me go all momma bear inside. They are being Bullies and holding the nation hostage it must stop. All logic has left the building with Elvis.

    • It sounds like there are a bunch of paranoid conspiracy theorists that are leading the pack here. And many followers don’t realize it. All they hear is “violating 2nd amendment” and “take our guns.” Apparently these people want to keep these military firearms and high capacity cartridges/magazines so they can use them when they are “invaded.”

No that is the perfect example of who should NOT have any firearms at all.

      • I agree. The reasoning for many of these folks is nearly impossible to understand . . . the neurosis inherent in their logic makes me think they would pass a background check if a mental health evaluation was attached to their criminal records.

        • Alex Jones and oh, crap… what’s that old rock star’s name that’s been in the news… the both of them are perfect examples of mental problems and should not have access to guns.

        • Michelle: that old rock star’s name Ted Nugent…he is bat crazy and rather scary.

There was a gun dealer in KY. that went crazy on an interview ( I call it going Nugent..LOL) and said he was so angry that we would shoot people if they were to pass new gun laws. He had his concealed weapons permit revoked by the State of KY right after his episode that went national and internet viral.

What the president has purposed is putting power back into the ATF they have no power to exercise the laws in place. ATF has not had a director for over 6 years. 2 legislators worked very hard to get the ATF deflated on power with laws that are in place. A new director has to be confirmed by congress and they just refuse to do it, a temp. director has been appointed through out the years.

Why does a new director of a non cabinet position have to be confirmed by congress, because some schmuck put it into the Patriot Act – the director of the ATF must be confirmed by congress. This particular legislator actually got an award from the NRA for doing it, not a joke.

Then we have some legislator from Kansas that piggy backed more deflating of ATF power into a spending bill and blamo – All the ATF can do with the current laws is put up suggestions on youtube with no real power to enforce the gun laws everyone keeps saying need to be enforced.

This is what the NRA has done to this country and the laws surrounding the 2nd Amendment with help from lobbyist and bad politicians. These two particular legislators are no longer in the house but I am sure there have been replacements.

        • Oh, wow! Thanks for the info!! That Patriot Act…. sold it to America by creating fear and paranoia. I’m still not convinced 911 is what they’ve been telling us. I don’t believe some of the far-fetched ideas of the conspiracy theorists, but there is much more than we’ll ever know.

  2. Mr. Lincoln did a wonderful and just thing in abolishing slavery. Where he went wrong was his effort to preserve the Union.

Have you noticed how those former states of the Old Confederacy (along with a few others) have, politically speaking, become the tail that wags the dog. Yup, the Old Confederacy with their lunatic gun totting fringe racists and thinly veiled bigoted politicians play a deadly game of jeopardy with the rest of the United States.

For them the Civil War never ended. Today, they’re getting their revenge on the rest of the nation. Now they fight, not with guns…although they’d love to…but with obstructionism.

The next time one of those good ole boys from one of them there Confederate States decides to float a petition to secede from the Union…please send it my way. I’ll gladly sign, as will many who would be glad to see the back of you.

Here’s your hat. What’s your hurry? Y’all can head back into the cesspool you crawled out of.

    • You’re not kidding. Please, go ahead and leave. You can’t take any Fed stuff with you, so thanks for the extra SS retirement, and hopefully give raises to people like teachers, police, firemen, etc. They may be state paid, but the state gets federal monies. I lived in Alabama for two years… and I couldn’t get out of that state fast enough when it was time to move.

  3. The NRA’s and right wing politician’s argument against gun regulations make no sense to me. I’ve been accused of being too logical but, it occurs to me that if the President is making regulations and some restrictions for buying, using and storing guns, then he’s not planning to come and take them away.

    • He’s not! After I started really listening to those that are the loudest – as it’s rather hard to not hear them – this tantrum is being led by people who I think are a bit unbalanced. Well, more than a bit. I had no idea that there were so many people who believe that the government is going to come and get us and put us all in FEMA camps. If so, do they really think that owning a personal arsenal will stop this? Hell no! I think our military, or whoever is “ordered” to “come and get us” can easily take down a fool all hold up in his home, aka bunker, without any problem. They’d be easier than the shooter in the middle of a crowd. Probably get tired of the bullshit and just toss a grenade in the house and be done with it.

  4. I mean whats next? Are these morons gonna actually suggest that in the 1930’s if Jews had guns…I dont even wanna finish that sentence…thanks Michelle for letting me vent.

    • The truth is that in late 1930’s Germany, everyone but Jews were encouraged by Hitler to own weapons. Laws were passed to enable this to occur.

While every thing needs to be done in today’s America to encourage a reluctant Congress to pass tougher gun legislation regarding assault style weapons and high capacity multi-round clips, what really needs to happen is registration of all weapons, a national registration of all gun owners with the weapons they own, a data base of said owners freely accessed by law enforcement, a national registration of all violent mentally ill individuals that would flag gun purchases at gun shops and gun shows, enforcement of gun owner checks at gun shows before being permitted to purchase a weapon.

In all honesty, trying to halt sales of assault styled weapons and high capacity gun clips is at this point with more than 300 million weapons in American hands, like closing the barn door after the horses have escaped…but it’s a good start.

In regard to the near 5 million member NRA. How is it possible that 5 million gun devotees can hold the rest of this 300 million plus nation hostage? The answer is government corruption and a disjointed electoral process..

Once again, it’s the tail that wags the dog and happens so often in our American society.

Go ahead... I can hear your thoughts. Please share with the rest!
