Looks like a shrine. Angkor Wat?
I hadn’t thought about that. I just figured a rich very old family crypt (thus my comment about fertilizer), but I think a shrine makes more sense. Crypts here in the US are not normally two stories.
That was my first thought. Southeast Asia.
