Burglar Caught on “Puppy Cam” Feeding Treats to Homeowner’s Dog
Mia, a homeowner in Tempe, AZ, used an old iPhone and an app called Manything so she could check up on her dog while at work. Recently, Mia was shocked as she witnessed, via her live feed, a stranger enter into her home — then begin feeding her dog some treats!
She immediately contacted the police.
Dispatcher: 911. What is your emergency?
Caller: Hi. There’s someone in my house. My dogs are there, he’s giving them dog treats.”
The man then noticed the camera and turned it off not knowing that Mia had already contacted the police.
When the robber left the house, he wasn’t expecting to be surrounded by the police.
“The planets aligned in this one. We couldn’t have asked for anything more in terms of getting real-time intelligence and reporting to us so that we could bring the appropriate resources, we could respond appropriately and safely, we could lock the neighborhood down,” said Tempe Police Lt. Scott Smith.
Police said the suspect told them he was looking for an X-box.
