John Oliver appeared on CBS This Morning where he spoke about things like the "John Oliver effect," which he humbly says has little to do with him, and clarifying that he is not a journalist – but a comedian. But, that is not what put Donald Trump on the defensive.

However, this may have. In the last 30 seconds of the segment Gayle King asks Oliver about Trump specifically:

King: "But, you’ve endorsed Donald Trump. . ."

Oliver: "I have endorsed Donald Trump? I have very much NOT done that on any level. I don’t really care about him in any capacity."

King: "So you wouldn’t want to have him on the show?"

Oliver: "On my show? No. I haven’t really got anything to say to him. He’s said everything he wants to say. He has no internal monologue, that man. So it’s not like you’re going to find the secret nugget he’s been holding back. He’s an open book. And that book doesn’t have many interesting words in it."

Not long after, Trump randomly tweeted about the Last Week Tonight host saying, "John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low rated show. I said "NO THANKS" Waste of time & energy!"

Last Week Tonight then tweeted in response to the claim, saying that an invitation to “The Donald” had never been extended.

PWNED!

Note the difference in numbers between the two in regards to the number of shares and number of favorited. Last Week Tonight definitely wins this popularity contest. Leaves "The Donald" in the dust.

On a side note, why in the world did Gayle King think that Oliver had endorsed Trump? Oliver disses Trump in every weekly episode.
