Did you hear? Probably not. Muslims save a group of Christians from Al-Shabaab, an ISIS faction

The media really needs to focus more on what Muslims are really like, which are peaceful people. On Monday, Al-Shabaab militants ambushed a bus with both Muslim and Christian passengers. Al-Shabaab was responsible for the raid on Garissa University College in April that left nearly 150 people dead. However, thanks to the Muslims on board, things didn’t go according to plan.

There were over 100 passengers on board, a mix of Muslims and Christians. The gunmen ordered Muslim passengers to come out of the bus and separate themselves from the Christians which, most likely, would have ensured their lives. However, the Muslims refused. In fact, they shielded the Christian passengers and told the attackers they were prepared to die together. The Muslim passengers, who were mostly women, also told the Islamic militants to kill them all or leave them alone, witnesses said. These same women gave the Christian women their hijabs and helped others hide behind bags in the bus – something they didn’t need to do and put their lives in jeopardy.

“They told the terrorists, ‘If you want to kill us, then kill us. There are no Christians here,” according to passenger Abdiqafar Teno.

A Christian man who tried to run away was captured and shot dead, Teno said. The driver of a truck, which was trailing the bus, was also killed.

I just wish all the major news medias would headline this story, not just hide it somewhere deep in their international news on the internet. Especially with the Islamophobia that Trump is stirring up these days.
