Despite the doom and gloom cries from Donald Trump, America has improved quite nicely since Bush did his damage. I hope Hillary flat out challenges Trump and his numbers – if he ever gives any – as they are all lies. There are no legitmate figures to back up what Trump spews out. I also find his motto, "Make America Great Again," to be insulting. We, as a country, have been working hard to repair the damage from Bush, and we’ve made tremendous amounts of headway. Don’t insult our progress. Here are some of the more pertinent numbers of Obama updated in April 2016.

• The U.S. trade deficit has shrunk by 24 percent; exports have grown faster than imports.
• The number of immigrants in the U.S. illegally has gone down — by 3.4 percent according to one independent estimate and by 9 percent according to another.
• The economy has added 9.7 million jobs.
• The unemployment rate has dropped below the historical norm.
• The buying power of the average worker’s weekly paycheck is up 4.2 percent.
• Corporate profits are running 144 percent higher and stock prices have soared.
• The number of people lacking health insurance has gone down by nearly 15 million.

Trade Deficit

The growing Trade Deficit does have many worried, and Trump has jumped all over this opportunity like flies on shit. Trump carries on that he is the only person qualified and capable of reducing the deficit. Well, he is not. To the contrary, having filed four bankruptsies speaks volumes for his financial skills. He would treat this as if he was at the crap table getting ready to roll the dice with an all or nothing bet.

Unauthorize Immigrants

Despite what Trump claims, the number of people living in the US illegally has declined, according to independent estimates by demographers. The Pew Research Center estimated a decline of roughly 400,000, or 3.4 percent. And the Center for Migration Studies estimated that the drop has been even more pronounced — a decrease of 1.1 million, or 9 percent.

And this wall. Stupid. Think about it… most of the people who are in the US illegally originally legally flew in. Visitors who have let their visas expire yet continue to stay are the largest numbers of illegals. Sure, the wall would decrease the number coming over – for a while anyway. But the number of southern border hoppers are small when considering the whole. The only thing this wall will do – besides take our tax money as Mexico will not pay for it – is force the polleros and solo crossers to find other alternatives. I would expect more tunnels to crop up.

Dump da Trump

As you can see, by the numbers from Fact Check, we are doing quite well and still moving up. (All of Fact Check’s numbers provide their source references.) To go in and tear apart something that is working perfectly fine would be the most insane move done only for spite.

Trump’s biggest horn he’s tooting is our security within the US. He is creating fear-mongering, nothing else. Personally, I feel perfectly safe here. There is nothing to indicate that our security on US soil is decreasing. I think the biggest threat is from within — Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Trump’s ignorance, intolerance and hatred towards Mexicans and Muslims will only cause problems.

America is great and will continue to be great so long as Trump stays out of Washington.
