Remember the “OptiGrab” from Steve Martin’s “The Jerk”? This woman’s glasses remind me of them.
Okay, I rarely ever poke fun at how people look or what they wear – except for trump. But I cannot help myself with this one. Via a tweet, I was directed to a post in the Kenosha News by a reporter, Erin Decker, who obviously is a trump-supporter as she praises trump’s response to COVID-19. When I saw this woman’s photo, I immediately thought of the “OptiGrab” which is what Navin, Steve Martin’s character in “The Jerk” created for a traveler who stopped at the gas station he worked at. Eventually, that traveler marketed Navin’s creation, eventually found Navin and made him a rich man – that is, until Carl Reiner’s character filed a lawsuit claiming the OptiGrab made his eyes cross.
I can’t help myself. Please forgive me.
(BTW… “The Jerk” is one of those classic comedies that always makes me laugh.)
Here is a part of the movie where Navin (Steve Martin) has met his demise…
It looks odd to have glasses without frames. (?) It makes the nose and ear pieces stand out in an awkward way.
Agreed. That’s what I thought. I have some the are minimal frames, but the nose piece does not stand out like that, either.
