Miscellany Vol. 3
Just a hodge-podge of miscellaneous images from the internet. Most are funny, a few more serious. Just kickin’ back here and letting my mind turn to mush for the night.
Hope you enjoy!
As Tony says from Barking in the Dark, “…continue….”

Okay, I get the humor from the sign. But why is there a play phone hanging next to the hummingbird feeder?

I remember when diesel was cheaper in price than regular gas. That was many, many years ago…
Me, too. That’s the way it was up until it surpassed the price of regular fuel. The days of leaded, unleaded and diesel. It was was not common to see diesel at all gas stations.
I forgot to mention, most of the pics are good, and the very last one, don’t know how many times I have seen it in e-mails and other places…
Okay (Michelle now hangs her head in embarrassment)… I actually did that once. No, I didn’t make it to the street, but I did drive away from the pump, heard a huge clunk, then realized what I did.
I remember (I think) moving to the East Coast in 1969 and watching the price go up as we got farther east … all the way up to an outrageous 35 cents a gallon. That’s about what a really great chili burger cost then, too.
Ohhh… east coast chili burger sounds yummy! Chile, down here, is not what I grew up with and cannot eat it.
some VERY funny stuff here…and VERY clever too. thanks for the laugh. continue…
Thanks. Happy to share the chuckles.
Great great set. Laughed my way through most of them. Though a couple did make me stop and think.
thanks, She, and have a good night!
You are welcome. You have a good night, too!
I hated those shiny pants from the early eighties. I loved the eighties, but there was a lot wrong with the clothing.
LOL… yes there was a lot wrong with the clothes. And the kids today will look back in 20-30 years and think the same about the skinny pants they’re wearing now.
I hope so.
I always get a couple of laughs, when I think about the punk rockers and other people showing their kids their picture and saying ….. these are your REAL parents!
That one comment … I can remember? … I am so old, I can remember gasoline for .18 cents per gallon, and a heavyweight fight and both of the boxers were white guys.
Lifted a couple of your photos … they are super.
DS
Oh, my 18 cents per gallon is a bit before my time. But when I was a new teenage driver, I remember pulling up to the gas pumps (leaded of course) and the attendant would come out, check my oil, fill my tank, do the windows, and then I would just tell him, “Sent the bill to my parents.” (Small town and my parents were business owners, so everyone knew who there were). Ah, yes. The days of Goober (or was it Gomer?) Pyle taking care of you at the pump in ol’ Mayberry are long gone.
Goober was the best friend of Gomer, and was not to be confused with Rufus, who was a third cousin of Aunt Bee, who they did not talk about all that much.
How about a nickle candy bar or a five cent coke (seven cents if you kept the bottle). Hell, I am so old, I can remember all of those things, even all the way back to when a “dog could not legally vote.”
DS
Huh? (she says with a droopy dog voice)… A dog could legally vote?
I never got to “send the bill to my parents” but I remember how embarrassed I was when I finally could not find a full-service gas station anymore and had to ask someone to show me how to pump the gas (I was well into my adult years by then).
Yeah, me too. But we could pump then pay back then, too.
Okie humor … Something like, “Hey kid? Pull my finger!”
Hyperbole.
DS
I always enjoy your miscellany posts with my coffee in the morning. 🙂 Thanks!
No problem. Getting ready to post a story about chronic illness. You will find this very interesting. Look for the email in about 10 minutes or so.
Outstanding! Will do…
