FOX News Is Lambasted During Their Own Live Interview
Now that the election has passed, many right-wing politicians, organizations, and the media have realized that their lies just do not hold as much water as they used to do. Several conservative congressmen were not reelected when many thought they were a shoo-in. Even more importantly, though, President Obama was re-elected, despite the heavy, malicious criticism thick with deceit. This plan of attack against the Democrat Party may have worked in the past, but it is now failing.
On Monday, FOX News invited Pulitzer Prize winning defense journalist Thomas Ricks to be interviewed live on the air. Jon Scott, with FOX, began by asking Ricks the following:
“Senator John McCain has said in the past that he would block any attempt to nominate Susan Rice to become Secretary of State. She’s currently the UN Ambassador. He seems to be backing away from that, what do you make of that?”
Ricks was not about to fall into their web of lies so he told it like it is. After FOX News was lambasted twice, Scotts shut down the interview without hesitation after a minute and a half had passed.
Ricks was asked to appear to discuss his new book, “The Generals.” It appears that FOX’s Scotts did a “sneak attack” on Ricks.
Here is the footage from this interview. The transcript is below the Youtube video. I have watched this several times now and each time my grin keeps getting bigger.
Tom Ricks Criticizes Fox Coverage Of Benghazi Attacks
SCOTT: Senator John McCain has said in the past that he would block any attempt to nominate Susan Rice to become Secretary of State. She’s currently the UN Ambassador. He seems to be backing away from that, what do you make of that?
RICKS: I think that Benghazi was generally hyped, by this network especially, and now that the campaign is over, I think he’s backing off a little bit. They’re not going to stop Susan Rice from being Secretary of State.
SCOTT: When you have four people dead, including the first US Ambassador in more than thirty years, how do you call that hype?
RICKS: How many security contractors died in Iraq, do you know?
SCOTT: I don’t.
RICKS: No. Nobody does, because nobody cared. We know that several hundred died, but there was never an official count done of security contractors in Iraq. So when I see this focus on what was essentially a small fire fight, I think , number one, I’ve covered a lot of fire fights, it’s impossible to figure out what happens in them sometimes, and second, I think that the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox was operating as a wing for the Republican Party.
SCOTT: All right, Tom Ricks, thanks very much for joining us today.
RICKS: You’re welcome.

I got a kick out of this whole thing. Especially Fox claiming that Ricks later apologized for his remarks and Ricks saying he did no such thing.
Yeah. I’ve been out of the loop a few days here. Burned out on news after the longest election I can remember. So catching up to a few things now.
Michelle,
I know what you mean. Sometimes you just have to take a break. I usually watch all the shows on MSNBC but every once in a while I take a day off from it.
I saw exerpts of that interview and I could see Jon Scott getting flabergasted by Tom Ricks criticism.I also laughed when they said he apologized. I guess they had to do that to save face.
And I think it’s absurd to blame Susan Rice for reporting info that she had at the time. I wonder why no one at Fox seemed interested in who actually did the killing (?) in Benghazi. MAybe it’s just me but, I think that should be the priority.
Yup. What bothers me the most about this is the openness of the complete lack of any respect, contempt – and some hatred — for the person in the top office in our country over this. This makes us look so incompetent to the rest of the world. Completely embarrassing. But these fools don’t give a shit. They’d rather act like spoiled babies then use some decorum and not verbalize their hateful feelings for all the world to hear and read. No one has to agree or accept what Obama or Rice has said. But please don’t go blasting it all over the world.

Faux Spews is still not accepting the results: 64 + Million for President Obama…..59 + Million for Mitt Is UnFitt Romney. Great post Ms. Michelle.
That was awesome–Ricks brought up facts, and called out Bullshit Mountain for being a mountain of bullshit. I think Ricks might be Santa, because he knew what I wanted for Christmas.
LOL… You’re not kidding there! That is a pretty good Christmas gift.
It’s interesting (and fun!) seeing people finally feel like they can openly criticize Fox News and all the Grover Norquists of the world…it’s also empowering. Hey…what’s that I’m feeling…could it be optimism at last?
I hope so. Grover is still making noise, though. I wish he’d just STFU and go away. The guy has had everything given to him and has no clue how society works as a whole.
I’d like to think so. What’s that song they always play after elections…Happy days are here again etc. etc.
