Now that the election has passed, many right-wing politicians, organizations, and the media have realized that their lies just do not hold as much water as they used to do. Several conservative congressmen were not reelected when many thought they were a shoo-in. Even more importantly, though, President Obama was re-elected, despite the heavy, malicious criticism thick with deceit. This plan of attack against the Democrat Party may have worked in the past, but it is now failing.
On Monday, FOX News invited Pulitzer Prize winning defense journalist Thomas Ricks to be interviewed live on the air. Jon Scott, with FOX, began by asking Ricks the following:
“Senator John McCain has said in the past that he would block any attempt to nominate Susan Rice to become Secretary of State. She’s currently the UN Ambassador. He seems to be backing away from that, what do you make of that?”
Ricks was not about to fall into their web of lies so he told it like it is. After FOX News was lambasted twice, Scotts shut down the interview without hesitation after a minute and a half had passed.
Ricks was asked to appear to discuss his new book, “The Generals.” It appears that FOX’s Scotts did a “sneak attack” on Ricks.
Here is the footage from this interview. The transcript is below the Youtube video. I have watched this several times now and each time my grin keeps getting bigger.
Tom Ricks Criticizes Fox Coverage Of Benghazi Attacks
SCOTT: Senator John McCain has said in the past that he would block any attempt to nominate Susan Rice to become Secretary of State. She’s currently the UN Ambassador. He seems to be backing away from that, what do you make of that?
RICKS: I think that Benghazi was generally hyped, by this network especially, and now that the campaign is over, I think he’s backing off a little bit. They’re not going to stop Susan Rice from being Secretary of State.
SCOTT: When you have four people dead, including the first US Ambassador in more than thirty years, how do you call that hype?
RICKS: How many security contractors died in Iraq, do you know?
SCOTT: I don’t.
RICKS: No. Nobody does, because nobody cared. We know that several hundred died, but there was never an official count done of security contractors in Iraq. So when I see this focus on what was essentially a small fire fight, I think , number one, I’ve covered a lot of fire fights, it’s impossible to figure out what happens in them sometimes, and second, I think that the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox was operating as a wing for the Republican Party.
SCOTT: All right, Tom Ricks, thanks very much for joining us today.
RICKS: You’re welcome.
