tRump tweets “…we have no jobs, no cash, and no hope.”
Actually, I have to be fair, trump tweeted the following back in 2013:
“@chiIIdog: @realDonaldTrump ten years ago, we had steve jobs, bob hope, and johnny cash. now, we have no jobs, no cash, and no hope.”
This was supposed to be both humorous (which I will admit it is rather funny) as well as targeted at Obama, but sure looks like he was predicting his own future with “…we have no jobs, no cash, and no hope.” I know that trump wasn’t foreshadowing his own demise, but Karma can be a bitch, ya know.
Let’s look at 2013 now and compare it against trump’s economy. In 2013, with Obama at the helm, both the number of unemployed people and the unemployment rate for all the major demographic groups dropped from 2012. (source)
The unemployment rate was around 7.3% in 2013.
Let’s see what’s up now with unemployment – and I’m not telling you anything you already don’t know. The economy shed 20.5 million jobs in April, and the official unemployment rate rose to 14.7 percent (source). So double the amount that Obama had.
I realize that trump didn’t have anything to do with the virus, but he acted very poorly and that is what collapsed our economy. Had he taken it seriously from January, when he was first informed, we could be in a much better state of affairs right now. I would most likely still have my salary, which went away on May 1st, and working full-time. Now, I have no income, no work. Just waiting until the economy picks back up so I can get back to work. My boss has informed us that we will eventually get back on salary – but it will be reduced. Damn… and I just got my first raise ever this year! And one helluva Christmas bonus!!
Oh, woulda’s, coulda’s, shoulda’s. trump is full of them. We may have no jobs and no cash, but I do have hope. Remember, vote Blue in November like your life depends upon it as it just may very well.
