Filipino Traffic Cop Dances to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”

Fun footage of a dancing traffic cop in Manila which has been synced to the song “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson. This guy has some moves! I have to wonder, though, if there is any music playing anywhere, or if he has on an iPod or an mp3 player.

I did some searching for more information about this man, but could not find anything specific to him. What I did find, though, were several videos of dancing traffic officers in the Philippines. In fact, more so than any other country, including the United States, which I thought was very interesting. Not sure why, though. I also found a news coverage about a different dancing traffic cop in Manila, and in the story, the reporter informs the viewers how these officers literally dance their entire shift which is often eight hours.

That takes some serious stamina…. Perhaps an upcoming feature on “Dancing with the Stars”?

  1. How cool! Now if could just get dancing postal workers and hip-hop firemen life would be so much better!

Fun post. Reading about anyone who dances on the job is a great way to start my day. Thanks!

  2. Fun! Reminds me a little bit of the cop that used to direct traffic at the center of the main intersection of Provincetown, Ma on Cape Cod. P-Town, as it is affectionately known by people who love it, is an artist colony, and a favorite place to live and vacation for the LGBT community, as well as a haven for writers, free thinkers and free spirits of all persuasions.

I’ve been going there ever since my mid teens, first with my older brother, then as soon as I could drive, with friends, lovers, a former wife and now my current wife. But getting back to the point here, there used to be a cop who directed traffic at a multi-direction intersection, with fast and agile dance moves, spins, and pirouettes. He was always a real trip to watch, and seeing this video made me think of him.

  3. Ha! I love it. Inspiration really, it is not what your doing but if you are having fun doing it!

Go ahead... I can hear your thoughts. Please share with the rest!
