Quiz Results | Who Said It, Santorum or Hitler?

It has been one week now, and here are the results of the quiz “Who said it, Santorum or Hitler?” which I posted on Friday, March 2nd. There were ten questions in this quiz and overall, the majority of people chose correctly… except one question.

Question number 8 was, “Marriage is an institution called upon to produce images of the Lord and not monstrosities halfway between man and ape.”

Out of 496 answers, 267 people (54%) chose Santorum when the correct answer was Hitler.

Question number 9 was split down the middle. The results show a 51% and 50% answers between Hitler and Santorum, which obviously is just over 100% – so apparently the answer results have rounded up one of the answers results. But I have been watching the results over the past week, and this one ran tied pretty much the entire time.

Question number 9 was, “We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit … We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press – in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past … few years.”

Out of 497 answers, 251 chose Santorum, which was incorrect. The correct answer was Hitler, and 246 people chose correctly.

The overall consensus from those who commented was that these questions may easily have been said by either Hitler or Santorum – which we all found to be rather frightening. Let’s hope history does not repeat itself in this case. If you are a supporter of Santorum, I hope this helps you realize that this man is not meant to be president. A good president should lead the country with an open mind, setting aside his or her personal beliefs, especially when it comes to religion. Hitler did not do so – he lead a country and a monstrosity by his own personal beliefs. I have to wonder if the similarities between Santorum and Hitler in these questions are more than just coincidence….

This quiz was created primarily for entertainment value, but it has evolved into something which is much more sobering than it is humorous.

Here are snapshots of the results.

#1: “I love my children. I love my friends, my brother. I even love my mother in law. Should we call these relationships marriage too?”

.

#2: “There is a road to freedom. It’s milestones are Obedience, endeavour, honesty, order, cleanliness, sobriety, truthfulness, sacrifice, and love of your country.”

.

#3: “Isn’t that the ultimate homeland security, standing up and defending marriage?”

.

#4: “A woman’s world is her husband, her family, her children and her home. It’s not right when she presses into the world of men.”

.

#5: “The radical feminists succeeded in undermining the traditional family and convincing women that professional accomplishments are the key to happiness.”

.

#6: “The idea is that the state doesn’t have rights to limit individuals’ wants and passions. I disagree with that.”

.

#7: “Our whole public life today is like a hothouse for sexual ideas and simulations. Theater, art, literature, cinema, the press…must be cleansed of all manifestations of our rotting world and placed in the service of a moral, political, and cultural ideal.”

.

#8: “Marriage is an institution called upon to produce images of the Lord and not monstrosities halfway between man and ape.”

.

#9: “We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit … We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press – in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past … few years.”

.

#10: “This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, (and) influential country.”

  1. Some women voters (Republican) admitted to voting for Santorum because he wouldn’t have a chance of beating Obama in the election. I want to say he’d be better behind the pulpit but even I know better than that.

  2. Great job Michelle!
In the recent past both sides of the political spectrum on the right and the left, have engaged in accusing their political adversaries of being like Hitler, and often to a ridiculous degree, reducing political debate to the level of childish name calling by adults who should know better.
But there is nothing ridiculous about your quiz results here. Based upon the statements made by these two men, which are disturbingly similar, both are revealed to have similar social and political ideologies. Hitler’s fanatical ideology succeeded in leading Germany into a war that resulted in mass atrocities and the deaths of millions of people. Santorum wants to become president of the US and “the leader of the free world”. Where would Santorum’s fanatical ideology lead us, if he were to gain the great power that he seeks? I think that’s a very disturbing and alarming question.

  3. Cool. I didn’t expect to see the results on this. Number 9 was a toss-up for me and I guessed Hitler because of all the talk about burning — which he did, literally. But overall the similarities between these two men are frightening and I think they need to be publicized a lot more. Thanks!

  4. my gawd girrrl…did u calculate all this? and make the graphic? wow! verrry impressive i say. (again, i got a 90% on the quiz – jes’ sayin’ ) brava to you. a piece on Joseph Kony coming? continue…

    • Oh, I’d love to say I did all that work, but I didn’t. Poll Daddy did all that. Pretty nice, huh.

Okay, I admit. I don’t know who Kony is. I just saw a friend of mine uploaded a ton of stuff to YouTube about him. So I guess I better check that out to see what this guys about.

Go ahead... I can hear your thoughts. Please share with the rest!
